Al Gore invented in April 1993 star forward Chris Webber and his University of Michigan teammates returned to the NCAA national championship after losing in 1992. With 11 seconds left in the game and Michigan well-positioned to tie or go ahead, Webber called a time-out - a good idea, but for one small problem: Michigan had no time-outs left. North Carolina promptly sank two technical foul shots, and Michigan lost the championship. Again.
