2025 AL CB Na'eem Offord (Oregon Signee)

Recruiting forum so I can’t really say what I want lol…

That said, I’ll always root against these two now (Oregon and Offord)… to go all cycle committed then flip at the last minute to me shows who you are. If you’re going from a small school to a big school cool I get it.

But if you’re a 5 star who can go anywhere and you flip the day of? No reason for that whatsoever. He knew well before and he didn’t have to do this at the last minute. At the very least out of respect to the coaches you committed to. I don’t know how kids do things like this.

I don’t even care he flipped because that happens but at the last second? Just unbelievable.

I mean, watching that announcement conference told me all I needed to know. Turned it off after 30 minutes.

This one I just expected a flip to somewhere. It's the recruiting forum but I'll say this. The manner in which you conduct yourself matters. Not just committing to a school and taking the highest bidder, but the way you announce that fact to everyone like that...I am no longer upset over this.

I wish him good health. But really nothing else after that charade.

Exactly.

Did Walton deserve that? The coach he had a close relationship with for 2 years? I honestly don’t get how kids do these things

Men with shoe boxes in bags.

Men Phil Knight with shoe boxes in bags

Literally!!!

'He's gonna help me make my shoe'

The scary team out there on the recruiting trail is now Oregon. They have the money, and they are really getting players to buy in. OSU runs similar to Oregon, but without the Phil Knight money.

Eighty-six-year old Phil Knight was a prime example. The cofounder of Nike desperately wanted his beloved Oregon Ducks to win a national championship before he died and took a hands-on role in turning Oregon's Division Street collective into one of the country's most cutting-edge and wealthy operations.

Phil Knight spares no NIL deal in thirst for Oregon national title: 'He's gonna help me make my shoe'

Most people assume the Nike cofounder's involvement in Oregon's recruiting operation, but the level of specificity uncovered Wednesday is noteworthy

Midway through a slick commitment video that featured Oregon head coach Dan Lanning explaining how five-star cornerback Na'eem Offord would fit into his program, a familiar octogenarian popped up on screen: Nike cofounder Phil Knight.

The Oregon super booster didn't say anything in the video that announced Offord, the nation's No. 2 cornerback and No. 12 overall prospect, had flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Oregon's 2025 class. But his presence wasn't a coincidence.

"Uncle Phil," as he's known to Oregon players, is doing everything he can to deliver a national title for his beloved Ducks. Getting a must-have 6-foot-1 five-star cornerback out of the state of Alabama and away from Oregon's toughest Big Ten competition was just part of the plan.

"He played a big role, like a huge, big role," Offord told CBS Sports of Phil Knight. "He's actually waiting on me to get up there, he's got a lot of stuff planned for me. He's gonna help me make my shoe."
