Just try to be a hardass to dad who's on the second leg of a flight after it has been delayed for 5 hours (happened last year, not a doucher - but an 7:30 pm flight that was delayed till 12:30 and returned home at 4:30 AM). I guarantee you the plane's returning to the airport and we're both getting arrested.

I totally agree...at least we'd a helluva story to post here.

My least favorite airport, by far, has to be Frankfurt (Germany). Place feels like a dungeon. Top notch home base airline in Lufthansa, but I haaaaaate being in that airport with a passion.
I'll be flying out of there this week. I wouldn't say it's a great airport be any means. I've done worse though. Frankfurt Hahn or any of the Ryan Air hubs are all crapholes.

Thump, don't pretend to know about my family. Maybe you would ask a 94 year old woman who is basically immobile to travel to Columbus in December, along with the other family members in the area, but then again that's probably why you're slovenly, single, and in your mom's basement.

And the free plane tickets expire 1 year after issuance which would be the first week of January. So we're "taking advantage" of our free flights.

All children under 5 should ride in the cargo hold with the pets.

You could always stay home with the 17-month old, that's a great excuse to skip Christmas Vacation 2 with the in-laws.

I understand it's hard travelling with babies and toddlers--anyone who gives you grief about a baby is a jerk--but you'll deserve any crap you get for letting a 5-year-old act out on the plane. That's old enough to sit still and shut up for a few hours, especially in the age of portable DVD players and iPads.

lol, does anyone here yet get that I was joking about giving the middle finger and letting my 5 year old act out? My 5 year old is a really good kid, he's not the one I'm actually worried about. I'll stick his DS in his face and have him look out the window and we'll be good.

The girl, that's where all the energy will be focused. Hopefully Airtran can avoid another 5 hour delay. (I pack enough diapers and snacks for at least 2 days).

I probably said it somewhere in this thread or another in the past about how much I liked flying Southwest. Well, that LUV affair is definitely coming to an end and my loyalty to their airline is now gone after a series of incidents with them over the past few months, including cancelled flights, poor customer service attitudes, and bad attendant service.

I have to say I think that their tremendous growth over the past year with the purchase of Airtran has pushed them beyond their capacity to treat their customers with the same LUV that they have in the past. It is unfortunate that they appear to be losing sight of what got them to where they are today.

As they say you can vote with your money and I am. Rapid Rewards Visa cancelled, exclusively flying SWA no more......

No more KY. And sheesh, it was a joke.

I should have just said, to not joke: "if you are from small place from outside Columbus and are using the airport while using phrases such as "I didn't done do," and don't understand that flying has changed and that you have to do things such as remove shoes, and feel it is proper to complain about this, then please use the line to the right."

If they have shoes, then by definition they are not hicks.

Nothing I like better than having my flight out first thing in the morning delayed due to mechanical issues causing me to have to run across Ohare to get to my connection. It is just poor that an airline (United) doesn't have the plane ready to go that has been sitting there all night waiting for the first flight of the day. The stewardess did her best to get those of us off that were trying to make connections first, but of course no one really cares and didn't listen anyway.

It used to be my favorite airline until I found out in Jan 2014 that when weather cancels flights (as it did around the nation), SWA doesn't put you on another airline, because they have no agreement with other airlines. 3 days straight of flights were cancelled, and I ended up spending $400 for a ticket on a different airline.

kids in 1st class, yes or no?
Yours? They might be fine.

Flew to Disney over Xmas a few years ago, booked into first class with miles specifically to avoid kids. EWR-CLT was fine, CLT-MCO had about six kids treating the front cabin like a playground and their parent who thought it was cute. Fuck that.

Another flight shared a cabin with Brandon Jacobs, his wife and two kids (probably a three y.o. and 12-18 months)...they squirmed at takeoff but slept the whole way. /csb

I understand that kids aren't going to be used to the pressure in their ears at takeoff/landing, but any incidents above 10k feet is on the parents.

Yes, we are flying 1st ORD/PHX in April. This will be his 5th/6th flights. First 2 were ORD/MCO and second was ORD/IAH. He got a little fussy on the flight back from Houston, but he wasn't exactly feeling well. My wife keeps warning me that he is going to have a blow up at some point (he is only 9 months), however I believe as long as we time his nap/feedings correctly and keep the flights no more than 4 hours we should be good.
