AFC Championship Game: Ravens at Steelers(-4.5)

I remember in 1994 the Steelers beat the then-Browns-now-Ratbirds twice in the regular season and everyone jumped on the bandwagon that it was next to impossible to beat a good team 3 times in the same year. The Steelers waxed the Browns/Ratbirds worse in the playoff game than either of the two regular season games.

That of course was a divisional round game and not an AFC championship game. The Steelers have gone, I think, 1-5 in those games when they host it since Cowher took over.

Long story short I'm slightly more confident this week than last but the ghosts of AFC championship game bit spittings past are fresh in my memory. Its only play money so I'll go with the Steelers again and hope the new man has a better result in these games than the Chin did.

This game has to be a Browns fan's worst nightmare, or something close to it. It's Benedict Arnold versus Darth Vader for a trip to the Super Bowl. :tongue2:

4.5 seems to be quite a few points for how close the two regular-season games were played. fuck Baltimore and Pittsburgh.:pissed:

That's why my money goes to Baltimore to cover, probably not to win, but to cover. 23-20 and 13-9 final scores don't have me thinking that the Steelers will blow this up, both teams playing great defensive football right now, we'll see how the rookie will do against the vet that was doing the some things at that time in his career as well.

I've lived in Maryland all my life and can't stand the Ratbirds

You just have to love the hypocrisy of receiving the ex-Browns with open arms, all while continuing to curse the Colts for leaving. Fuck Baltimore.

There are very few teams I dislike more than the Steelers and Baltimore is one of them. Go Stillers!

It pains me to say it but I think the Steelers blow open a tight game in the second half, much like they did against the Chargers.

Then again, I could be wrong.
