Addictive Game - Sid Meier's "Pirates!"

From the maker of the "Civilization" series (also spectacular games).

If you like strategy, pillaging and plundering...this game will hook you like it did me. This game has sword fights, cannon battles, sneaking out of prison, romancing governers daughters and stealing buried treasure!

I've started several Pirate careers so far...The original Dread Pirate Craig is getting up there in years and has lost some of his swashbuckling skills. His ships (The U.S.S. Ginn, The A.J. Hawk and The Nugent) are still the envy of the Caribbean!

I have only been addicted to one computer game in my life and that was Civilization.

I agree, Pirates was addicting. But it's also one of those games that, when it gets old, it REALLY gets old fast. Rather repetetive.

Still was fun for a while, killed a good ammount of time with it.

Totally agree. It's also rather easy no matter what the setting. Still rather fun, and I actually played the original over 10 years ago.

I'm pretty sure I earned a minor in Civilization in college. Used to keep playing to 0 AD... surely I can achieve space flight by then!

I find most RTS games do that to me like all the Command and Conquer series

I still play that game when I fly to Europe. Nothing makes an 8 hour flight go by faster than counquering the entire world.
