Just found out today that I was accepted into The Ohio State University. Needless to say, i'm pretty damn excited. First college that i've heard back from, and have loved the school everytime i've been up to visit.

I'm still waiting to hear back from some other colleges, and I have to figure out things financially, as I'll need to get some scholarship money or find out how to get in-state residency starting sophomore year. But either way, I want to go badly, and am finally in!

Congrats. If they let you in this early in the process, you probably have some pretty good stats. What other schools are you considering?

As far as in-state residency goes, keeping in mind that it may have changed since I applied for it, you should be able to get it your second year providing you don't accept a certain $$ amount in support from your parents, they don't claim you as an dependent on their tax returns and you stay in the state over the Summer. Check with the admissions department, they'll give you the exact details.

Thanks alot everyone. Now the next step is to apply to the Scholars Program and see how that goes for me.

I've applied to James Madison, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Virginia Tech, and am about done with my applications for the University of Virginia, and William & Mary.

As far as where I want to go, tOSU is at the top of the list. But it would be hard to turn down UVA, if I ended up getting accepted (still a reach), considering how great of a school it is, it's affordability, and location to me.

But yeah I've researched the in-state guidelines pretty extensively, and am pretty sure I know what I have to do in theory, but it's all a matter of how it works out in reality. I know i'm supposed to not be out of the state for more than 3 weeks in the summer, but how can they really check that?
