Accepted into THE Ohio State University - Questions!

PE major? Hope you have anatomy, physiology and kinesiology out of the way. You go up against the pre-meds, pre-dents and the nurses in those three. Also know that OSU long ago got rid of the history minor because too many HS coaches were teaching history/social studies and the standardized test scores in those subjects were sinking.

Ohio State still has a minor in history. I believe that most arts and sciences departments do.

Ohio State History Minor

Even with only a minor in history, he's still going to have to satisfy the basic math, sciences and language requirements of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences.

News to me. They did away with it in 63 or 64. I would have graduated sooner if it had still been available. Sounds like they reinstated the program.

I'm pretty sure that your major has to be in an arts and sciences department in order to take the minor. That way one is automatically meeting all of the science, language and humanities core. I had an econ minor for awhile, but ended up going off the deep end and just doing a full blown B.S. in econ. Since my other major was history, being out of the A&S colleges wouldn't have been an issue when I signed up for the minor.

I think quite a few things have changed since 63 & 64 when it comes to required classes for certain majors. Another road codger:)

You do not have to be an A and S major to take a minor in that school.

For $14 you can get a card that gets you into all home football games. Each basketball game costs a quarter extra.

(Unless that has gone up since I graduate in 1971.)

Also, they were just getting ready to do an addition to the student sports facility - a place called Larkins Hall. The plans looked pretty cool.

And be sure to check out the basketball courts under the stands in the Shoe. Just watch out for all the geeks as that is also where the dorms for kids on academic scholarship are located.
