OSU 2-0 vs. top 25 compared to UGA 2-1.

SOS OSU - 51, UGA - 42.

Bama is almost assuredly a better team than OSU. UGA may be too - I don't think they are from what I saw of them, but I can definitely see the case is there to be made.

And not to take this too far off topic, but despite who the better team may be, an eligible OSU team most definitely would have deserved to be in the championship game over the SEC champion. We didn't play a Booysse schedule that was ranked in the 90s or 100s. That's just my 2 cents.

Living most of my life before the abortion that is the BCS..12-0 is 12-0. Only ND has matched it..a game 30 days after the season is callled National Championship more made for TV than determining the best college football team anyway.

Our schedule did kind of suck this year:

Miami 4-8
UCF 9-3
Cal 3-9
UAB 3-9
MSU 6-6
Nebraska 10-2
Indiana 4-8
Purdue 6-6
PSU 8-4
Illinois 2-10
Wisconsin 7-5
TSUN 8-4

That said, our team improved miles every week, especially considering we had completely new offensive and defensive schemes.

Similarly, you can't compare when ND and Alabama played TSUN to our game, as Devin Gardner > > > Shoelice at QB and scUM similarly improved over the course of the season.

I think we definitely have chances in both those games. Alabama is not invincible, no matter how badly ESPiN tries to make it seem. They rode one hit on Colt McCoy and a true freshman QB to their first national championship, and then out-fieldgoaled the [Mark May]tiest QB in D1 football to their second. Yes they are talented, but they aren't in the same ballpark as Miami in the 90s and early 00s. And Miami was still beatable.

You're still going to have the same sort of arguments. Just think about it. If we were eligible this year and that system is in place, everyone would be talking about Notre Dame and the 3 one loss SEC teams over an undefeated Ohio State.

No system will ever be perfect, but the more we can choose title game participants by playing games - and less by casting votes - the better.

Ohio State did not lose a game this year. I don't care who we played. If Boise State was 12-0 with their cupcake conference schedule, they damn sure would be ranked #2 behind Notre Dame. It isn't homerism to suggest that a BCS conference team that is undefeated should be ranked ahead of all the 1 loss teams in the nation, even if you think they would lose to one or more of those 1 loss teams. I would feel the same way if it was not Ohio State.

I also don't get the idea that a team on probation should not be eligible to be voted #1 in the AP poll. A team is either the best team or it isn't. Probation is irrelevant for voting in the AP poll
