A note to fairweather Buckeye fans...

That's what being a fan is - I did the same last year - wore my colors proud. WTF? They lost - fine. They went out, gave it their best, and lost to a better team. What shame is there in that?

I also saw quite a few OSU fans leaving early - some as early as end of 3rd qtr. The one you could just read as real fans, they stayed until well after the final gun. And I know in my section, we didn't put up with any sh!t. We had a few "Canes Fans" and I say that sarcastically, 2 rows behind us who talking crap to a family - a damn FAMILY of OSU fans in the row - this is parents with their mid-teen kids - and we put a stop to that REALLY quick. We had 6 guys on my right, hardcore Canes fans, who had to have been around 6'4"+ and 260+lbs each, and they slowly stood up and turned around, and one said "if I have to find a way to get my big ass up there, you will regret it every single step I take." I just about died laughing!

After the Toledo game, your boys' confidence was probably a little shaken, but after Saturday, I'm sure that was NOT what they expected. Those Bucks need you guys now more than ever, and an awesome turnout at the shoe will NEVER HURT.

Ya gotta scream, yell, kick, and let 'em hear ya - THAT, my Buckeye friends, is what being a College Football Fan is all about. Supporting your team, hell or high water. If it's high water, grab a f'in life jacket, and jump the hell into the deep end.

...anyways, I've done this before, have no issue doing it again:
:oh:

I told my wife 1 good thing about the Miami game was that ticket prices were going to go down for the Colorado game.......but I didn't expect this. I watched eBay auctions all day yesterday (1 day later), and people are getting AA 35 yard line seats for face value. I'm wondering how empty the stadium is going to be this weekend.

If you're local, not busy, and usually can't afford tickets....this is the game for you.

Screw' em better seats for me.

And I get to meet up with good friends who will be at the game (also in nice seats).

So, once again - screw 'em.

BTW, I figure Colorado game is a 50:50 proposition now - depends so much on the team's psyche. What better time to show up in person and give them a boost.

I've lived through watching OSU get manhandled by Inifuckingana two years in a row. I can deal with this bullshit.

Although its worth noting that shit Saturday night was in the top 5 worst performances I've seen from OSU in my 40 years. Somewhere Steve Bellasari has to be a little happy knowing he won't go down as the worst QB at OSU in the past 20 years anymore.

Chill, home boy!

I live in Las Vegas, it's a massive transient city of almost 2 million people from all over. I'd say that only half the people here were actually born and raised here, with the other half being transplants from other places. Just among the people I know, I know Michigan, Penn State, Purdue, Miami, Florida, Alabama, Wisconsin, UNLV, UCLA, USC, BYU, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, Florida State, Syracuse, Arizona, Arizona State, North Carolina, Duke, Missouri, Rutgers, Iowa, Navy, East Carolina, Boise State, Wyoming, Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, Louisiana Lafayette, Fresno State, Hawaii, and UNR alumni and/or DIE HARDS. Not just people who wear hats and shit, I'm talking about people who complain that their All-Conference USA Strong Safety is out for ECU's game against South Carolina.

That said, try to be a Buckeye fan among a bunch of other clowns (I can call them that, they're my friends, it's a term of endearment) that haven't experienced NEAR the level of success that tOSU has in the last 3 years, let ALONE the last 10.

I posted last year on Thanksgiving how thankful I was, as a Buckeye fan, for all of the success we've had over the years. It's amazing that one loss can make the wheels come off the bandwagon for certain fans. That might not be a bad thing to let those folks melt down. Hell a second straight loss would threaten bowl-eligibility as we head into a loaded conference schedule, but the silver lining would mean all of the fair-weather clowns who can't name the starting tight end to pack away their ONE Buckeye hat like they did on 10/16/2004.

Again, be thankful. I posted in this thread that it's not ALWAYS going to be as good as it was in 2002/2003/2005/2006/2007/2008/2009/2010. Guys, that's 8, EIGHT, OCHO, BCS Bowl appearances in NINE YEARS. The level of success of this program is unprecendented, and probably will never be done again. Oklahoma has 8, but it took them 11 years to do it. Next is Florida, with only 6 in 11 years.

It's not always going to be a BCS Bowl at the end of the year. A little adversity is needed. It's why many people born into money are spoiled, irresponsible, and can't take care of themselves, and people who come from nothing and make it big are the most successful. It's important to see the bottom sometimes. Think of 2004, when OSU lost 3 straight games to open conference play. The young guys on that team turned out to be pretty damn good Buckeyes, who won their Bowl Game, beat up on Michigan every time they saw them, cockstomped Notre Dame, and the younger guys played in a couple of National Title Games. Many of those guys are doing their thing on Sundays now, AJ, Tone, Teddy, etc.

In my honest opinion, and I hope I'm wrong, but we've got a few more bumps in the road this year. But the strongest steel is forged in the hottest fires. This might be a tough year for Buckeye fans. As a Las Vegas resident, I've gotta deal with the Buckeye hatred and jealousy of a bunch of friends/coworkers from many different parts of the country with allegiances to many different schools. I'm quick to remind them how many times we've beaten down Michigan. I'm quick to remind them we've been to 8 BCS Bowl games in 9 years. I'm quick to remind them of our winning % in the 2000's. It's good to be a Buckeye. One loss isn't going to kill anything more than your pride...and only if you let it.

Peace

Counting what's been vacated (which seems fair since all of tOSU's were counted), USC had 7 straight from '02-'08.

I was a student sitting in the Shoe the first time around. I remember them announcing it was Indiana's first win there since 1951. Beautiful. :shake:

We also lost to Iowa on the last play that year - again in the Shoe - when a TE named Marv Cook caught a pass on the 10 yard line and carried our defense into the end zone as time expired. The screams turned to silence in seconds.

Of course, there was the last game, in Ann Arbor. We took the bus trip to TSUN at 5-4-1, 10 point underdogs, in Earle Bruce's last game as coach. We returned home 23-20 winners over those bastards and somehow the season wasn't so bad after all.

That was my last game as a student. I'll take it.

Sadly, it's this very attitude that kept me away from BP for a while. Too much negativity and bashing (while following the rules) happens and people are quick to attack. This has happened in every "bad game" or loss we've had recently.

Terrible post. You suck at life.

I'm not really a fairweather fan, but I admit to being a bandwagon fan. Jumped on with the Super Sophs and I'll leave when they pry my cold dead fingers off. I admit I was frustrated Saturday, but never considered booing or blaming an individual who I assumed was doing his best.

Will be in 30C Saturday cheering like crazy.

I couldn't care less what other fans do. I did not like watching Buckeye Fans leave that game early, but it is what it is. Some people prefer not to see their team's loss become official, and that's fine with me. Personally, I'm not one of those people, because taking losses is part of college football. I'm not going to tell other people how to enjoy the sport, though.

As for the arrogant douchebag fans, let them leave. The great thing about losing a game early is you lose some of the bandwagon. One Dbag leaving is one less Dbag representing tOSU.

As for the stadium capacity this saturday, I expect it to be as full as ever. If not, I will be shocked and disappointed. The Ohio State University has the largest fan base in the country, there is no excuse to not fill up the 'Shoe.
