I think he's a solid coach. Just a piss poor recruiter.

that idiot lost the NCAA game . 9 turnovers in the last 4 minutes to lose the game and 9 point lead.

He just sucks and can't recruit in state

All he had to do was CALL TIMEOUT FOR HIS PLAYERS TO SHUT THEM UP AND TELL THEM HOW TO CONTROL THE BALL

I assume you mean the Championship game. I don't remember how that game went other than UNC grabbing a 16 point lead and the Illini fighting back so I can't really comment on much. 3 things to consider though are:

1. He got them to the NC game. Incredibly hard to do no matter how talented your team is.
2. UNC was loaded and had very quick players who could cause turnovers.
3. Weber wasn't nearly as experienced as Roy Williams in the NCAA tournament. The veteran usually wins.

I didn't say great coach but he is good. He's losing out on a lot of in-state talent though which is killing him.

I think akronbuck was talking about the 2nd round game against Virginia Tech.

bingo

Before, that game I thought he did ok with the talent he has but, after that sad lost caused by him , I lost all respect for him as a college coach and can't believe he hasn't been fired yet.

In addition to Oden (#1), did you notice #12 (Conley) and #48 (Lewis)?

And in their 2008 mock draft #10 (Koufus), #20 (Cook), and #57 (Hunter)?

Yep that sight really likes Lewis, they think he has an NBA ready body. Also they just moved Conley onto that draft as they had him on the 2008 board and vice versa with Cook as he had been in the mid 20's in the 07 draft for quite some time after he was in the lottery in the early part of the year...

But that is the one thing that the Big Ten as a whole is missing is the NBA athlete...

In the 08 mock we have Gordon and Neitzel to go along with our 3 as the only 2 big ten guys on the board...I am sure that could change and you could see 1 or 2 more guys pop up, but hopefully with the recruits in the 07 class and then the 08 class we can become a more talented league...

At this moment it doesnt look like Beilein is going to be able to hold to Harris and could possibly lose Legion as well...

If there is one team that I don't mind falling on hard times is it scUM...

BTW I keep forgetting that Tubby took the job at Minny...It will be interesting to see what he can do with that program...

CB40--any idea where Harris and Legion might go now?

Forward Xavier Keeling is leaving Indiana and guard Joey Shaw is considering a move to another school. The 6-foot-6 Keeling averaged 1.8 points in his freshman season. Shaw, a 6-6 redshirt freshman, averaged 4.5 points and 12.9 minutes of playing time. ? Guard Chris Lutz and center Johnathan Uchendu will leave Purdue and transfer to schools closer to their hometowns

Oh. Yeah, that was an awful finish but Illinois was terrible offensively the entire season. Weber doesn't have any Derron Williams' or Dee Brown's anymore. He really needs to step up his recruiting.

That is some tough news for the big ten...Lutz was a great defender...Led the league in steals...Also the big guy they lost was one of the only guys they had over 6'8' but only averaged about 5 minutes/game...They have another project center like that as well...

As for Joey Shaw, I didnt watch Indiana a whole lot, but I do know the game against us he looked like a future stud...That would be a big lose for Indiana...

The thing is both of these teams are going to have depth in the backcourt so the loses won't be real significant, just takes away depth from those 2 teams...

Yeah crazybuckfan you beat me to it about Lutz but I was gonna mention you could remove him from your Purdue writeup :(. Lutz missed his family and wanted to move back east. Same deal with Uchendu. Uchendu won't be a big loss, he was a nonfactor for us all season long. Lutz will be a bit bigger of a loss, being our top 3 point shooter percentage wise. I think we'll be ok though, have a 5 star guard E'Twaun Moore coming in from East Chicago (his team beat Eric Gordon's team for the Indiana 4a state title). Maybe Lutz also saw the writing on the wall, who knows.

By the way, crazybuckfan I saw your message I will get back to ya later today.
