Tressel bringing on Malcolm Jenkins at CB and James "Little Animal" Laurinaitis is like Vito Corleone finding Luca Brassi. The experience at LB will be missed for sure, but I think the replacements will be better than most other teams' LBs.

Jenkins was definitely playing on that final drive if I'm not mistaken.

Troy Smith is a legend. He has shut up a lot of haters today. Michigan has a pretty good D, and ran an excellent zone coverage today. He got stripped from his blindside. Other than that, his decision making and execution was spectacular. 300 yards passing, 75% comp, and two huge drives.

Had we not fumbled the ball away twice (and instead won with tresselball to the tune of 18-12 or something), I would give a game ball to Tyree. He was absolutely incredible. Has he ever been out there during non-garbage time before? Great call by JT.

Unless I'm forgetting another time, Coach saved the Ginn option for this game. He utilized Troy's mobility extremely well in this game, with rollouts and other unique calls.

Gutsy performance by Troy. I think Danielson was onto something, b/c he really didn't look as speedy as usual.

Schlegel was an absolute stud today. He outshined Hawk by a mile, and that's quite an accomplishment. We can't replace these LBers, but with mDa, the animal, and freeman/hoobler, we will not look lost out there next year.

I wish holmes well if he leaves. But with how Troy is improving, LBJ is right: we will be in the NC hunt next year... thanks to a great offense. Holmes cannot be replaced if he leaves, but I think Hall/Robiskie/Lyons/Dukes/Hartline will fill in quite nicely.

This young man has come a LOOOOONG way, and is already a Buckeye legend with a season still to go. Congratulations Troy, can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve! How proud must Ted Gin Sr, be right now?

wasn't kerr the leading tackler in the big ten when he played for indiana? granted, he played for indiana, but that experience has to count for something. i think we'll be fine on defense next year. losing the three stellar linebackers is sure to hurt some; however, we will be reloading and not rebuilding next year. i think that our offense will be damn outstanding next year. in fact, i think next year's output will rival the best offenses ohio state has ever put together.

My 2 Cents....

hats off to Tressel. I am a huge fan, so most of you will not be shocked seeing me give him praise. The guy flat out coached a hell of a game. Brilliant call after brilliant call. The guy knows when to show confidence in his team and players (ie decline penalty in 4th Q), and the guy knows how to exploit his opponents weaknesses, and how to conatin the opponent's strenghts.

For those of you that second guess our coach...nevermind. Tressel has always talked about 24 points being the magic number. He wants to call a game that keeps his opponents under 24 while the Buckeyes score more than 24. Today was another day that proved his philosophy. Despite losing 2 turnovers and 2 muffed punts resulting in negative return yardage, our teamed looked dominant offensively. We should have won this game easily in my opinion, but the ball bounces funny ways when the game is played on the field. Wins like today prove how valuable our coach is.

Let's all pray that we get an opportunity to play in a BCS game, and lets give our young men one more chance to show the country how good this team is.

Yes what many are forgetting is that Schlegal played the best defensive game IMO outta any of the linebackers! He absolutly blew up any running plays to the inside , and he flew to the ball. However, AJ Hawk blowing up that Screen pass was a thing of beauty! The thing I was impressed with was our defense playing assignment football. Not very many times were we caught off gaurd by their dumb gimmicks that usually would've worked against our old buckeye defenses. Also Pitcock played a very tough game in the middle.. I just can't say enough about our defense.

Next years Offense should be absolutly incredible. Just imagine what they'd be like if Holmes stayed (although we all know he's leaving).\

Look what we'll have going for us on offense next year
1) a 1,000 yard rusher, with a talented 230 pound freshman coming in (also Wells will improve)

2) Ginn, Gonzo, Hall, Dukes, Lyons, and the rest at Reciever.

3) Our Offensive Line will be VERY strong as well. 3 returning starters. (although you could count 4 if you pick Rehring, and Boone who both started this year)

4) Both Fullbacks are back, and can only get better with more strenght training

5) Finally, Troy Smith... Our QB who has only screwed up maybe a handful of times all season. Has showed why he's a good QB. Most Importantly he's our Leader.

Oh yeah that defense we have back ain't too bad either!!!

Mangold will be a big loss, but I like our chances with this OL:

RT - Barton
RG - Downing
C - Cordle
LG - Datish
LT - Boone

Back-ups - Rehring, Mithcum, Skinner, Person, Smith

A little more depth would be nice, but the Bucks' two-deep should be pretty solid.

mangold is a big loss, but Cordle will be an excellent replacement. Troy will also enter his third year at QB, and may be able to help call certain things out. Even without Holmes, Troy will be entering his third year working with Pitt, Ginn, Gonzo, Hall and others.

Incredible stuff out of frost. Here I was worried that there was a reason we only saw hamby, but he removed those worries the past few weeks. Clutch play from our new TE.

good call buckguy, I left out kerr, who should also be a solid contributor.

if cordle can find a fit, i have absolutely few concerns about that line. with our stable of horses next year, we'll be running down the throats of our opponents.

pittman + wells + wells + haw? + smith + damn fine offensive line = you might as well give up

how true, how true. he must have mitts with stick'em applied. if we only knew then what we know now (that is NOT a cut on hamby). frost is going to become one of those big play tight ends that miami has been able to produce for so many years. frost is one big ole lumbering beast when he gets the ball. i don't see anyone knocking him backwards. and, again, he's human flypaper.

i was at the game and though im not very good at guessing numbers, i would guess there was more than 7-8K. looking all around the stadium, you definitely saw big patches everywhere.

also, before the start of the season, everyone was talkin about how if marcus freeman played anywhere but ohio state he would have been starting this year. the LB's will be greatly missed but if he lives up to his preseason hype, i dont think we will have too much to worry about.
