Turner is 6'7, 205; Ubiles is 6'6, 200. It will be a great matchup. Ubiles is a high-flier and, in my opinion, Siena's best on the ball defender as he is quick and really long.

Vandy sat in a zone early last year and Siena drilled a bunch of 3s, then Vandy went man and Siena put the game out of reach by driving the ball. Siena is streaky from deep this year - but Siena rarely starts "chucking and ducking" against zones. You'll see Ubiles and Rossiter work the high-post to feed baseline cutters against the zone. And Moore is pretty good and getting into seems and hitting 14 footers if the front court doesn't step up, and if they do, he'll look for cutters.

This has all the makings of a classic game. And if tOSU wins, I'll be the first one on here to congratulate you and root for you against Pitino.

Ohio State is tough to play if you ahven't seena lot of them. I can count the times they've gone man on 1 hand....that is not an overstatement. They are a strictly zone defense. And it is a unique zone....not a straight match-up zone, but similar. It's funky if you haven't seen it, and seems to give teams that haven't layed against it a lot of problems.

The Big 10 has learned to attack it, and shoot well against it, although the Bucks have one of the best 3 point field goal defenses against OOC opponents. It just throws teams off.

Hearing that you guys do press a lot is a bit worrisome. Neither of our PG's are great ball-handlers. PJ Hill and Jeremie Simmons have different games, but the one thing they have in common is a lack of explosiveness and ability to create any type of seperation off of the dribble. It creates a lot of turnovers and forces our offense to run through Evan Turner A LOT. Evan is beastly, and likely a lottery pick wheenever he decides to leave. Great mid-range game and ability to get to the hoop. Outside shot is suspect, but he doesn't need it with his ability to attack. Our other wings, Jon Diebler and William Buford can both stroke it, and spread the court for Evan.

I like Rossiter on your squad from what I saw...tough nosed kid with some good skills. I don't expect him to get much off of Dallas Lauderdale, although he has the type of game to give BJ Mullens some trouble down low.

How would you asses Siena's ability to crash the glass? Aggressive rebounding teams have really done a number on Ohio State all year.

Let me talk on an issue that hasn't been touched on in this thread as of yet...

When we struggle usually it is due to the fact that we get out rebounded...Well with Siena playing the 4 out 1 in, we should not get outrebounded...And hopefully we find away to take advantage of Mullens in the middle at 7ft and have him get some easy buckets...

Siena has been streaky, so if they are missing some shots from the outside we will sit back in the zone and let them shoot...If they are hitting we will extend and hopefully not get beat with the high post game...

PJ/Simmons will be fine in terms of handling the ball I believe...And hopefully Turner creates off the bounce for Diebler and Turner...

Gonna be a tough fought game, we have more mismatches, and if we take advantage of them we will win...If not we could very well go down...

For the Siena fans...Coaching, is your coach one that you feel can win you a close game?

fTwo questions For the Siena fans....

First, any opinions on the fine officiating of Ed Hightower? He is a Buckeye favorite, and we welcome only those who hold him in an equally high regard.

Second, no-touch icing....yea or nay?

Siena is not a great rebounding team by any stretch, but they are much improved over last year with the emergence of Rossiter.

As for Siena's coach - Fran McCaffery - absolute genius. Offensive mind. His best asset is his old assistant - Mitch Buonoguro - who is a former mid-major head coach and an assistant under Rollie at Villanova for that title over Georgetown. Buonoguro does all of the scouts - seems after every game, you always here the Siena kids say, "We knew exactly what they were going to run." Which I'm sure is true of most coaching staffs, but it was comical last year in the Vandy game.

I saw us play Siena in the mid-80s in Columbus. We killed the Indians by something like 101-57. Earle Bruce was sitting behind me that night.

I can't remember what I had for lunch last Friday but I remember shit like this from over 20 years ago. :p

The MAAC champion will play an Ohio State team that finished runner-up in the Big 10 Tournament. Overall, the Buckeyes are 22-10 on the season.

Siena and Ohio State have only played once before, with the Buckeyes winning 101-57 in a 1986-87 game in Columbus.

Siena seeded ninth, will play Ohio State on Friday -- Page 1 -- Times Union - Albany NY

Game is at 9:40p!!! Great time for everyone to watch!

Unless you're in Vegas catching the red eye back to Cleveland. I sure hope that game doesn't go into overtime.

More ticket info:

BuckeyeXtra - The Columbus Dispatch : Ohio State will face Siena in NCAA tourney

OSU-SIENA TICKET INFORMATION
The Ohio State athletics department said tonight that a limited number of tickets will be made available for purchase on www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com through the Ohio State athletics ticket office. Tickets cost $75 each.

The ticket sale will begin at 10 a.m. Monday for Ohio State students and faculty staff. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis to any student season-ticket holder and faculty or staff member who purchased faculty/staff season tickets for the 2008-09 Ohio State men's basketball season. Each faculty/staff season ticket holder will be eligible to purchase two tickets. Students will be allotted one ticket or two if married.

NOTE: If the Buckeyes advance to the second round, a Sunday game in Dayton, anyone who purchased first-round tickets will automatically be charged $75 for tickets to the second-round game. No exchanges or refunds will be offered.

Orders will be accepted online at www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com or in person at the Ohio State ticket office through 5 p.m. Monday or until the supply of tickets has been exhausted.

If you are not a faculty/staff season-ticket holder and are interested in purchasing tickets, call the OSU athletics Ticket office at 1-800-GO-BUCKS and ask to be placed on the waiting list.

Hope they sell out the allotment, imo $75 is a hefty price for two first round games in this economy. Especially with the prospect of being charged $75 more and not being able to do a damn thing about it except try to scalp the ticket, which I'm sure you have to pick up at the will-call window of the stadium.
