#8 Ohio State vs #9 TCU, Thursday March 19, 1215pm ET, CBS

If the team were more prepared for the start of the game and the 1st half we win this game easily. But Diebler had them prepared like a middle school team seeing a pressure defense for the first time. So here we are
Hate to say it, but you're right. No excuse for being demolished in the first half, they knew who they were playing and had plenty of time to prepare. There was no surprise defensive strategy out there for TCU.

If it were Duke I could give the benefit of the doubt. But this is not an overly talented TCU, we are probably more talented overall. They had to have known they were going to pressure the ball and trap at all chances, and they looked like they never saw it coming.

Diebler is going to have to do something next year besides the bare minimum and beating Purdue to accomplish the bare minimum or he needs to go. They looked like they weren't going to make it at all and they ended up getting there so i'm not gonna say fire him now but it's games like this that don't have me overly optimistic that he's the guy to get us out of the funk.

That was a well-matched game. It came down to who had the ball on the last full possession. I would echo the sentiments that the final play was unacceptable. That can't be the effort for the last shot. Bruce couldn't dribble anywhere all game, and the play is for him to dribble? Come on now.

Hopefully, we have Mobley and Bynum back next year. Because those 2 have quickness to go along with talent.

The final minutes were pretty much a microcosm of some of the major lingering issues that still plague this program

Giving up shots that are way too easy way too often (TCU's last 2 buckets were a wide open 3 and that comically easy close put in for the winner) and the offense going cold for 3-5 minute spurts way too often, which of course happened in the closing minutes.

I get it, man. This is a very discouraging loss. All OSU had to do was play as a TEAM and operate with a strategy designed to play against TCU. Apparently Diebler thinks he can just coach his offense in every game. Nah, sometimes you have to work with what the opposing defense gives you. In this game, they give you pressure and you have to keep passing the ball until you get a wide-open shot. Obviously OSU allowed themselves to be held down offensively by failing to recognize the most basic game strategy here. And as a result, TCU is now 16-0 against teams held to 65 points or less.

I don't think Diebler even really has an established offensive identity, and that is a problem in its own right, he thinks he knows what he wants to do and tries it sometimes but too often it just ends up 5 guys trying to play 1 on 1 ball. When they actually played like a team this year the results were great, but it was not even close to consistent enough.

Can’t believe this is only Diebler’s second full season. Feels like so much longer.
