I have to admit that as much as I would like to enjoy it... I couldn't stand Citizen Kane. Maybe it's because I watched it under the auspices of being something superb, and it left me wanting.

It's been on a lot lately...watch IFC for it too. Every once in a while TCM shows the silents...that's how I saw Joan of Arc

I tried to watch Eraserhead about 15-20 years ago. I found it depressing, awful and repulsive - my brother concurred. We turned it off.

Maybe I'll try it again some time.

I think I'd be more worried if that wasn't the response to it, much like Requiem for a Dream and Funny Games. If they don't make you feel terribly uneasy, perhaps you need some meds.
