5 players suspended for 5 games in 2011 regular season (Appeal has been denied)

un-fucking-believable.... I'm really saddened by this... Hell i know people who wouldn't sell there freakin high school graduation ring (I grew up in Alabama, those things are worth more than gold in a job interview), even if their life depended on it...

During times like this the gap between the BigTen and the SEC shows up as huge. I'm glad I'm with the program that takes seriously the job of each program to follow the rules both in letter and intent.

To be fair, the Buckeyes basically got the same penalty that A.J. Green got at Georgia for a similar offense. The penalties are based on NCAA guidelines.

what's the point of suspending a bunch of juniors for 5 games the next season? most, if not all of them, will declare for the draft now. there is no punishment. in my eyes, since this happened before the bowl game happened, they should be suspended for the sugar bowl. it's whats fair.

Looks like tOSU may be in for a rather large rebuilding year next year. TP, Posey, and Adams, and possibly Boom, not sure about Thomas, may very well all decide to bolt to the NFL, and being suspended for nearly half the year, who could blame them.

This is a large life lesson for all of these young men. They should all have known better, even if they were not completely educated about the rules. This might well cost some of them a lot more than five games.
