5 players suspended for 5 games in 2011 regular season (Appeal has been denied)

Given that a tattoo, which has some putative value, is regarded as a violation when traded for something from an athlete, what says the IRS regarding a blow job, provided by a coed to a football player preferentially to the male student body at large? I'd bet a blowjob from a hot sorority chick has a higher "street value" than a tattoo.

This is a huge steaming pile of who gives a flying fuck. What a waste of ink and brainpower.

I think it's a reference to the idea that the concept of a student-athlete in the NCAA is much heavier on the athlete side than it is on the student side. It's a fair point. That's not to say that there aren't plenty of players taking advantage of the opportunity presented to them. But at the margin, it's definitely a facade.

EXACTLY what I was implying. Thank you for clarifying. I'm a few Christmas Ales deep.

I can not argue with your logic.

It isn't that Herbstreit mentioned it. It's that he went out of his way to bring it up, like he always does. There was no prompt or context for bringing up the issue, Herbie did it on his own accord. Screw him. Seriously. Bring it up when it's relevant, or actually mentioned. You don't always have to be the impetus for collegiate justice at OSU.

It was fun to listen to Herbie pretend he knew what he was talking about during the game though....

Has anyone else noticed how often he likes to talk about how players are "Confused" or "Under pressure?"

Anyway, if this is true, then boy are we out of luck.

Beat 'em anyway.:oh:

Actually, Brent Musburger brought it up first. Herbie just chimed in with a stream of speculation and conjecture.

This crap makes me nervous and then [censored]ed that it's happening when a guy was just given the Heisman while breaking a rule that's potentially worht 180 times what a nice tat costs.

I think you're missing a zero on your estimate--unless a decent tat costs a grand.

Oddly enough, reading what they have to say over at shaggy made me feel much better...

Good referral. This was my favorite:

Retarded. I mean, does any NCAA football player in America (sans kickers) pay for drinks at whatever happens to be the 'football' bar in that college town. I knew a guy that played ball in the freakin Ivy League and even he said he never paid for a drink. Will they be going after bars next? Actually, now that I think about it, a Shagster should go undercover as a Bartender in Norman and become the next Thayer Evans.
