Just noticed that we cracked the 5,000 member barrier today. LuckyBucky was the user that got us to 5,000 (although he's user number 5013, due to some deleted accounts).

And now it will all be lost when my attempt to overhaul and upgrade our databases (moving to mysqli and the new vB structure for the data) and software (we're only 12 versions behind on vB!) tonight results in a fire.

I've got everything ready for the conversion.
Now I just need it to be after midnight.
There's something to be said about lowering your head, closing your eyes, and charging crown-first at full throttle into the unknown. If you do hit something, you'll probably break your neck and never know!

I've already done it to the site once, just on the other server as a trial run. So I know what to expect where, and it should go quite smoothly. I only expect the site to be completely down for about 20 minutes. The slow part will be rebuilding all of the custom stuff, our revised navigation, and non-standard hacks.
Articles, arcade, awards/medals, and the warning system are the only things that I don't anticipate being able to bring back online tonight. But there's some hope even for them.
What I don't know is whether or not the changes to the javascript will cause problems for people who have them cached. But I can turn on no-cache headers for a few days if that happens.
