UNC will be back again next year...

To what extent, I don't know...

But comparing the two recruiting classes, Duke will be the class of the ACC for at least another 2 years.

John Henson will be the "new Hansbrough". I can already tell I'm gonna hate how dominant that kid will be when he puts on 20-30 pounds. Carolina also has a few veterans that I assume will be coming back for some leadership.

HOWEVER...

I think we'll all have to get used to hearing the names Kyrie Irving, Josh Hairston, and Seth Curry.

Might turn out better than Singler, Scheyer and Smith.

Anywho, that's all I'm gonna say here pre-game.

Catch y'all later!

Synopsis of the first half:

Duke = C game
Purdue = B game

I think the crappy officiating made it impossible for either team to really get into an offensive rhythm. Duke had more turnovers and played the laziest, most apathetic half I've seen since the Georgetown game.

Having Zoubek (see: Blue Beard) on the boards really helped out...beating Purdue on the glass really gave the Devils a shot at keeping up.

Synopsis of the second half:

Duke = B+ game
Purdue = B+ game

Both teams really getting some good shots off rhythm. The officiating still stopped any real hard defense from being played as the same plays were called and not called throughout.

Singler's steady performance was the booster and Nolan Smith stepping up was the kicker. Also helped that they stopped turning the ball over every other possession.

Recap:

Today I'm smiling, but Sunday I may be crying.

If Duke plays a half like this first one against Baylor they'll be down 15-20 in a hurry.

On the flip side though...Baylor hasn't seen a defense as good as Duke's all tourney...hell, maybe even all season (outside of Kansas).

If the game is in the 60's-70's range, Duke has a great shot.

If it turns into a gunshow, I don't think Duke has the legs.

I'm out for the night... :wink2:

Sucks that I won't get the Ohio State/Duke championship matchup of my dreams...but hey, neither team was/is destined for the title game anyway...

G'night all!

:oh:

Hahaha, he says "Singlers steady performance."

I was under the impression that Singler went something like 0-10 from the field? Less than steady.

I also seem to remember Rob saying "See y'all in November"

Its March. Feel free to join the Duke boards, if you have time in between posting on the Yankees boards.
