Oh, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against taking a charge. But please do not compare the kind of defense that ET and David play to sliding into the lane and taking a charge. For example, Mr Kramer at Purdue will end up on his ass about 50% of the time. ET and David actually play defense, as opposed to flopping around for forty minutes.

It has nothing to do with what I said does it? It's just the fact that I'm a Dukie.

That's so...fancist...I should call the Rev. Jesse Jackson up and get him on this one...

HATE CRIMES!

Ya know, it's kind of like how the rest of the country views us Buckeye football fans...

Fancism is a dangerous thing... :wink2:

Well, I'll be the first to admit I have a borderline irrational hatred for Kramer. I live about 30 minutes from where he grew up, and him and his family are stuck up douches. Not to mention he was like the Big East in high school: All show.

I personally prefer one Mr. David Lighty. He doesn't give a fuck who he is guarding, he just works his ass off to shut him down. Sunday, when he kept Favors from doing anything in the post on that one possession? Incredible.

And fuck Duke. How one could be an tOSU fan AND a Dukie is beyond me...

In the past, defending the 3 was a sure-fire way of trumping Duke.

This year has been an entirely different story. Too much inside-outside balance for the Devils. Just look at the Cal game. They shot very poorly from outside but picked up points off the dribble and down low with Zoubek and the Plumlees.

The teams Duke has had trouble with are the teams that have a dominant post presence or a very good dribble driver, someone who can get in the lane and cause some chaos.

Purdue has neither of those.

Duke defends the 3 better than most if not all of the teams in the tourney.

If the Boilermakers feed the post the entire game and Duke shoots as poorly as they did in round 2 Duke will have a tough time in this one.

Annoying how?
not really the place, but posts about how much you love the hate Duke fans get would be one example.

there's a kid I know who likes ND. he has correlated hatred with being good, since people hate the Yankees, Lakers, Patriots, blah blah blah. so in his mind, if you're hated, you're good. so what does he do? act like an annoying little shit to piss off as many people as possible in the context of ND. then, when people give him shit about ND because they hate him, he thinks they hate him because he likes ND and ND must be awesome.

I think most people who hate the Yankees/Dukes/Lakers of the world don't hate them because they are good....it's because the way their fans have acted while they were good. I'm not rooting for the Yankees plane to crash because the White Sox haven't won 27 World Series'.....it's because the assholes who root for the Yankees deserve something horrible to happen to them. If a plane was big enough to carry every Yankee fan, I'd wish for that plane to go down. As it is, it's easier to hope the Yankees lose every game they play.

I once was a Duke hater but now I work at Duke and would now call them my second favorite team to OSU. Although a distant second. There is actually large OSU contingent here at Duke. Some of who will continue to only root for OSU and then others like me.:osu:

Dook is actually better this year than in some past years IMO because their defense is better...in the past (not the distant past when they were winning titles all the time, but in the recent past) if a team got hot hitting 3s and the Vlade Divac approach wasn't working with the refs, they were done for. Sadly, they seem to have more defense skill, which makes up for that fact that this isn't as powerful an offensive team as many previous Dook teams were. I hate to say it, but I see Dook breezing to the final 8...they could have some trouble with Baylor, though, when they get there.
