#4 Florida 86, #3 Ohio State 60 (Final)

For whatever the reason(s) for the loss the Bucks now have seen what it takes to win a game of this magnitude. Assuming they learn from watching Fla. They now should know it takes drive and determination in the face of adversity to achieve a win.
They now know for certain that talent alone doesn't win games. The real work starts now. Defense, teamwork, physical conditioning and work , work work.
If being shorthanded doesn't do them in and they learn themselves how to win the tough games they will be fine.
GO BUCKS.

A bad loss for a team could be good every now and then. It can tell the team that they are beatable and by a large margin of points.

I think OSU will learn from this terrible loss and improve on their game. Well they have too obviously lol.

Hey, sorry if I came off smug earlier, didn't know you guys get so defensive about basketball as we do about football. Honestly, I think UF, at least on paper, is a much better team. Much, much more experience, 3 definite 1st rders, very good in every department, good coaching, and playing on a record-breaking home court. I guess I'm just kinda used to talking basketball with SEC fans. I think it's because we don't care that much about basketball that we can talk about it fairly objectively. For example, the Vols had no problem admitting that we were the best team in the SEC despite sweeping us in the regular season. The USCe fans never mentioned "hard to beat a team 3 times" or whatever when we edged out a win in the SECTCG after getting swept in the regular season. That would've NEVER happened in football, and I'm guessing it's the same with you guys in basketball.

I agree, too. I remember this UF squad getting their ass whooped a few times when they were mostly young, and that was with NBA players Roberson, Walsh, and Lee playing on the team. The worst one was in the NCAA tournament against a veteran Villanova, when we pretty much got dominated throughout. You guys just got rattled by a second half surge by the Gators, it's harder for younger teams to bounce back from an onslaught. I'm sure they'll learn in time.

8.) Substitutions - This is the first time and probably one of the very few times that I will ever question Matta and his subsitutions, but it looked like Oden was going to fall over and for some reason he didnt sit him and bring some fresh legs in. I think once the momentum shifted towards UF we needed some fresh legs to stall the momentum, but we didnt get it. Hunter played poorly, but not very many minutes, Twig played the last 2 or 3 minutes, Lighty didnt see the court in the second half till 7 minutes to go.

I assumed Thad wanted to let Oden see how much better game-shape he needs to get in by the end of the year. The outcome was decided before Oden's tank was on 'E'.

Agreed. Oden needs to get his stamina up alot. He's getting taken out of the game too much and when hes out, Ohio State gets killed inside. Stamina should be his number 1 priority right now.

The main reason I hate going to school in the SEC! They claim to be amazing sports environments, but they don't support any team other than football. And no one follows professional anything, which you would think would lead to support for all school sports, but you would be incorrect. Have some school pride!

Academically, I'm pleased to be here, great program and they're paying me. It's the sports that piss me off, and the climate.

This Game was a huge disappointment for me , as well as the Buckeyes.
I expected that it would be a tough game, especially due to fatigue, but i hoped it would be closer.
Florida just had too many horses.
I agree with Best Buckeye and NFBuck in their posts,
As they say, the only way to go is up.
Go Bucks!
