anybody think oden will come back next year? our chances at a championship would SKYROCKET!

Who says we can't win one this year. Yea we are inexperienced but we will learn more and more as the season goes on and we can still do it, but next year if Oden does come back, our national championships would skyrocket like you said, especially with conley and oden with experience.

by no means do i not think tOSU cant win it all this year, but if he were to come back next year with the rest of the Thad 5, we may be strong for a while, especially adding koufos next year. can you imagine both oden and koufos on the same floor at the same time?! MY GOD!

The main reason I hate going to school in the SEC! They claim to be amazing sports environments, but they don't support any team other than football. And no one follows professional anything, which you would think would lead to support for all school sports, but you would be incorrect. Have some school pride!

Academically, I'm pleased to be here, great program and they're paying me. It's the sports that piss me off, and the climate.

Well, we don't pretend that we're nearly as crazy about bball as we are about football. Basketball is just so often about the last few minutes that the first 30 minutes or so aren't all that important. So it's kinda hard to sit and watch every second of a basketball game, on any level.

and ill throw in one more thing. conditioning. ive said this before to.

I commented on this after the UNC loss. I felt we were run down at the end of that game. I did not expect to still be seeing signs of it this far into the season. Like you say, the sky is definitely not falling, but you'd think we'd be in better shape by now.

I haven't read the whole thread so forgive me if this has been thrown out there already. I thought Conly looked extremely frazzled. I'm not sure what they were doing to him but he was totally out of his game. There were many times he would get some penetration and then just throw up some shit shot. He was out of control. Also, I was disappointed to see how we reacted to a tough physical game. Even Oden looked out of his league. There's a lot of ball left this season and I'm not worried, just a little disappointed. I was drinking too much Kool-aid and started to forget how young we are (I lost all my vDollars too!)

After the UNC game i was not very impressed with Hansbrough, but Horford is the real deal. That guy can play.

i disagree. in fact, i thought that conley looked the best of any player that saw the floor for the bucks. though he did force some shots off the drives, he was doing what needed to be done that few others attempted: break down the zone. even with florida's size underneath to compensate, their backcourt has been mediocre at halting penetration. but regardless of how he might have looked, his stat line was head and shoulders above his teammates. he was 6 of 14 (43%) from the field and 1 of 2 from beyond the arc. his teammates were 35% and 29%, respectively. mike had as many offensive rebounds as greg did, though that's not saying much. greg was the only player to grab more rebounds overall, which was only one more. conley's assist-to-turnover ratio was 7:3, which is a fine ratio. he also tabbed 4 steals, which was a game high. finally, conley led his team in scoring.

Baseball, gymnastics, heck UF's volleyball team has just won 16 straight SEC titles, a new record for any SEC school, any sport. I'm not talking about just football and basketball here. Buckeyeplanet seems to have forums for about every sport they have. I can't get anyone to even talk any gator sport except football, some basketball, and gymnastics with my office mate who was on the team as a undergrad. You may have problems with basketball, but my point is that SEC, and UF as my prime example, doesn't back up its talk about supporting sports with any action.

I disagree with you. SEC fans love football but we will also follow basketball and football. Our basketball fans are pretty good. The in-game atmosphere in the O'dome is much more exciting than the atmosphere in the Schott. Baseball is also big in SEC country.

As for vball, etc...well I agree. But who does care about all of those other sports? Not many.

Been gone a week or so, but wanted to add a few comments.

1. Knowing Greg well, he was VISIBLY frustrated at the lack of touches he got in the game. He was open numerous times and didn't see the ball. He won't verbalize that in public, but I can tell you he was very frustrated. The team looked very selfish to me for the first time -- I think there is some jealousy going on. Not only Oden but I thought Cook should have seen the ball more as well.

2. I disliked Noah as much as anybody, but Greg and others said he actually was a pretty good guy on the court. Very personable, didn't talk trash (which surprised me) -- his antics are used solely to get the crowd going.

3. A few comments here about Greg not being ready for the NBA and Conley being more ready right now? Insane. There is a reason why every NBA GM wants the first pick next year. Can anybody name three NBA centers better than Greg right now? I can't. Conley is definitely good but has a long way to go before he is an NBA point guard.

4. Is Oden coming back next year? No. His draft stock can go nowhere but down.
