$4.49 a gallon, what do you have??

Gas prices be damned, I have the rest of my life to drive an EV. I’m actually pretty keen on FCA/Stellantis saying “Fuck It!” and sending the 2022/23 model years out with a bang by putting Hemis in every fucking thing they make. If I had $200k to blow I’d be all over both the Ram 1500 TRX and the Jeep Rubicon 392. At this point the only thing they haven’t put a V8 in is the Caravan/Town & Country.

The manager of a Northern California gas station was fired after he accidentally set the gas price to 69 cents a gallon.

John Szczecina, who served as the manager for a Shell gas station in Rancho Cordova, said he mistakenly placed the decimal in the wrong spot and that the price was supposed to be $6.99 a gallon.

"I put all three prices on there, except the diesel. The last one kind of didn't go. So, I just took responsibility for it and said yeah, it's my fault," Szczecina said, ABC News Fresno station KFSN reported.

The pricing error reportedly cost the gas station $16,000, as hundreds of drivers capitalized on the mistake and filled their tanks.

Szczecina said he's worried the station owners will sue him for lost revenue, revealing that his family created a GoFundMe to help repay them, KFSN reported.

According to auto club AAA, nationwide gas prices recently reached $5 a gallon for the first time.

Drivers in California are paying much higher prices for gas -- an average of $6.43 per gallon -- than the national average.

Gas prices have skyrocketed in the last few months, pinching the pockets of millions of Americans who are struggling to fill their tanks amid inflation costs.

More motorists are also poised to hit the road as the busy summer season gets underway, also leading to increased gas prices, analysts told ABC News.

Are you sure???

I have been designing systems that use Lithium Ion batteries for over 20 years. Twenty years ago, they would last for 2 years or 200 charge cycles, whichever came first.

That was 20 years ago.

A lot of people are assuming the technology hasn't changed. It has changed significantly, especially at Tesla.

A lot of people assume that the battery is no different than their smart phone battery. It is significantly different. It is different not only in its mechanical, electrical, and chemical design, but most significantly it is different in the way the software handles it. The biggest problem with most smart phone batteries is the way the user treats it. The software in most EVs handles the battery intelligently. It handles things that are left up to the users of smart phones. Multiply this by about 100 for Tesla. Tesla considers itself a software company, and it shows.

There is a big part of me that is 100% with Dryden on this. Then there's my wallet. I just moved to California, and my new employer offers free EV charging. I ordered my Tesla a week ago.

I was reading the other day that the US has $259 trillion in debt and unpaid liabilities and $193 trillion in assets. The only way to keep the lights on is to print more money. We're fucked.
Pftftft...that means we, as a nation, are only $66 trillion (or $200,000 per person) in debt. No biggie...
