The good news is, here in the next month to 6 weeks, I won't have to drive it much at all on a daily basis, so, we can F some dollars into more fuel efficient vehicles (and lots fewer trips in them, one trip to school and soccer practice is a lot better than two - and likely in the fall that will be one trip for both)

So, honestly I'm not really complaining, I know this impacts other people one heck of a lot more than it does me.

Costco hit $5.64 for 85 octane (low lead). Usually cheapest around, as has more ethanol in it <10%. Don't get as much mpg as do with Chevron or Shell. Rolled my Lexus, and am now driving Subaru Outback. Still under 4,000, and Subaru says won't get great(er) gas mileage until crack 5,000 miles. Only use to get to golf course and doctors around town and nearby. Electrics scare me (we have Highlander hybrid), and maintenance guy at Toyota said it'd be about $15,000 to replace the battery pack (not starter battery) when time......
