As they were transporting Fayed, I'm thinking, "OK, now many cops/military personnel should they have for an escort?" - but the fake rescue explained that. And then Fayed was smart enough to not fall for it right away. Also, as soon as Gen. Habib said "I should have sent Samir (?) instead" - I knew that was a code, but CTU figured that out as well.

The President's moves were slick, also.

Plenty of action, the plot developments were explainable, and Jack got to have a little fun taking out Fayed.

Best episode of the season.
Jack gets to be Jack again.

Now we have 7 hours for him to take on 1.5 billion Chinese, who somehow knew exactly when he was done with the current crises to call him and let him know they have Audrey. (in LA)

Some unresolved issues left. No Kim yet this year? What about Jacks dad? What will happen to Martha for killing a disgraced ex president?

Dave Barry's blog about last night's episode:

(must click on the links!)

One of the best lines: "Lunatic Vice President Darth Boothe was going to launch a nuclear missile against a country that has not been named (although we have our suspicions)"

On another note, anyone notice that there is a lot of advertising inside the show?
Jack's Palm Treo serviced by Sprint
Probably 90% of the guns on that show are made by H&K

There are other instances, but those are off the top of my head.

There are a lot of instances....

When the good guys watch news, it is Fox News. When the bad guys are watching news, it is a CNN looking station.

The phone system is Cisco.

When the show was sponsored by Ford?(or Chevy) the good guys drove Fords, the bad guys, foreign cars.

If you ever read books that are in the 24 genre (Vince Flynn, Brad Thor) the books are also all very product specific as well.

Yeah, I noticed CTU is using Toyota Tundras now.

This was easily the best episode this season. Granted, that's not exactly setting the bar very high, but it was still the best. It at least gave me hope that perhaps the writers realized how poor of a job they have done so far and will at least attempt to salvage a terrible season with an average or decent stretch run.
