#22 tOSU @ Maryland, Sun 4 ET on CBS

That's kind of been the story of Holtmann for 5 years? Not hard to figure out. Same with blowing huge leads to finish games. Team almost blew the Illinois game by not getting a defensive stop for the final 6 minutes. Just insane.

Looks like Agent 001/002 has created a new account.

Whether it's an excuse or not, they clearly looked tired and it doesn't bode great for 3 more games in close proximity this week.

I don't think we can single out our S&C too much, this is a known thing in college basketball, even Coach K will talk about his baby NBA players having tired legs in certain games.

The scheduling cluster combined with a roster that relies way too much on just a few guys to get things done (though Holtmann certainly does try to play some of these bench guys, bless his heart) was always going to be an issue near the end. The question is would some fresher guys step up more or would we be able to skate by just enough to win out. Didn't happen.

It starts with recruiting (which is improving, at least).

Absolutely. A lot of circumstances had me thinking we might end up a bubble team this season. So while we have a lot of flaws and issues and are starting to look pretty gassed, I can't say I am upset about where we're at. People will say my expectations are too low then, but with a healthy Sueing this would be a T10 team.

I get that losses like today's are really frustrating but that's college basketball for you. Ask the top 6 teams from yesterday. You can't let it take away too much from enjoying the wins and the season on the whole, because we are still talking about a Tournament team here.

You're making too much sense!!

This game felt off from about 5 minutes in. Never controlled the game and the team seemed flat. Disappointing given they had a very manageable schedule to win out. I will watch every minute of the rest of their season but this squad just isn’t built for a tourney run. Hope they prove me wrong. They’re about where I expected them and recruiting is improving. Let’s get back on track Fat Tuesday and hoping they close out the season with a sweep of Xichigan…

Doesn’t bode well for tournament play.

Totally different animal, and the other teams will be facing a similar issue in a lot of cases.

What really doesn't bode well isn't tired legs in February, but inconsistent guard play all year. And a lot of that yesterday was because from the jump, Branham was completely worn out. There was very little attacking the zone and instead they were shooting over it - another sign that they were both physically and mentally tired.

Just like game 1 last year in the NCAA.
