“Oh for sure, they are definitely a school I want to get up there immediately and go visit for sure,” Mitchell told Buckeye Scoop. “My mom is from Akron, Ohio, so she loves it up there. That’s definitely a school I want to go visit.”
Mitchell may even visit with his AAU teammate and Ohio State commit Bruce Thornton. Nonetheless, you can tell his interest in the Buckeyes is genuine based solely on his reaction to the offer.
“It was definitely really exciting, my mom is from Ohio. I got an aunt and cousins up in Ohio, so it was really exciting,” he said. “And just hearing from a school like that, that’s a big-time school. They have a great winning history over the last four years with Coach [Chris] Holtmann so it was just really exciting. My mom freaked out. We were all just really happy about it, so I was really excited and I’m really proud. It was really good to hear from them.”
