2026 World Cup (Official Thread)

“But OSU can’t grow grass?”

PSU is too rural of a location.

Re: FIFA World Cup stadiums are governed by highly specific technical guidelines. Seating: All spectators must be seated in individual, fixed seats with backrests at least 30 cm high and a minimum width of 50 cm.

Just sayin": FWIW, I don't think Ohio Stadium would qualify for a World Cup Match under FIFA's rules.....

good lord I hate this sports for men. I’ll watch because I’ll root for USA no matter what but what prima Donna’s. Have to have fixed seats?

What’s next you going to tell me you can’t have porta potty’s too?

I'm sick to my stomach. Losing him for the rest of the game is one thing, but for the next one....for THAT? Fuck off.
Clearly I don’t enjoy soccer for this level but I have to say the card situation is crazy to me too. Every game should be a clean slate.

Especially with how much these players sell injuries.

Frankly I think if a player rolls around to sell it they should have to miss the game too. If you’re hurt then get off the field and mean it.

Belgium has a lot of players that can make plays in a split second. I think it’ll be close but I’m worried about the #9 position for the US.
I started to say we're going to need #10 to play like a #9, but that is not really his game. Maybe Pepi fills that spot against Belgium. Maybe we play without a true 9 and others step up to fill that void throughout the game. Maybe Pochettino has something else up his sleeve. Whatever the answer I'm going to be screaming at the TV for at least 90 minutes plus stoppage.

Just sayin': Not in the stadium; however, they are allowed in exterior zones, tailgate lots, and unofficial "fan zones". While the inner stadium relies entirely on the host venue's built-in facilities, major host cities frequently place large numbers of portable toilets in adjacent streets and Fan Fest areas to handle the massive pre-match and post-match crowds

FIFA’s global stadium guidelines require venues to provide specific minimum sanitary facilities for both spectators and participants. For general admission, venues must maintain distinct ratios based on event demographics

General Spectator Requirements
To manage high crowds and prevent concourse congestion, bathrooms should be independently managed by sector and situated away from immediate turnstile entries. Minimum requirements are calculated based on capacity and gender ratios:
  • Female Provision: 1 seated toilet per 36 female spectators and 1 hand basin per 100.
  • Male Provision: 1 seated toilet per 200 male spectators, 1 urinal per 60-70, and 1 hand basin per 166.
  • Wheelchair Users: 1 accessible WC per 15 wheelchair spectators, alongside designated adult changing rooms in specific sectors.
