Remember that time FIFA moved the whole tournament to the winter and lwt the host nation build the venues with slave labor in exchange for piles of cash?Yeah, the reaction is nuts. When the red card happened the whole world agreed it was bogus. Now they're besides themselves that a) a wrong was righted and b) FIFA might be corrupt.
Nothing new was learned about corruptness, and the right result is happening. And they're acting like the fabric of time is about to come apart.
The only person who can get anything done around here is Donald Trump
This is the World Cup......we can't just correct mistakes with the benefit of hindsight. Anyway, VAR was used to give the red card, so that's that.Remember that time FIFA moved the whole tournament to the winter and lwt the host nation build the venues with slave labor in exchange for piles of cash?
Oh noes, our striker sorta cleated a guy kinda above his ankle but maybe not very much, obviously unintentionally, the fix is in!
I think that they thought that they had a chance because they were hosting but as one honest guy said, physically it was like men against boysThey were up a man for an entire half. Their poopers ought to be hurting after still losing.
A lot of it's just performative IMO. UEFA, e.g., has to back its arguably affected member, Belgium, Belgium's coach has to look like he's doing everything to gain advantage for their fans, etc. And the "process" is dubious and arbitrary even though the result is good given that the red card was a trash call so there's a legitimate beef about that. And being "shocked" that FIFA is corrupt isn't real but is instead based on the need to pretend that they all didn't know that already to protect the tournament's "legitimacy".Yeah, the reaction is nuts. When the red card happened the whole world agreed it was bogus. Now they're besides themselves that a) a wrong was righted and b) FIFA might be corrupt.
