Ohio State’s most important position battle might already be over
The Buckeyes have not officially announced their starting five, but everything coming out of preseason camp suggests Ian Moore has won the left tackle job and Austin Siereveld is headed back inside to right guard.

The most important part of this development is not that Ohio State wants Siereveld at guard. It is that Moore appears to have done enough to make moving Siereveld inside a realistic option.Moore arrived at Ohio State as a highly regarded four-star recruit out of Indiana and was viewed as one of the better offensive tackles in the 2024 recruiting class. The physical profile with him has always been obvious. Ohio State lists the redshirt junior at 6-foot-6 and 315 pounds, giving him the length and frame of a traditional left tackle, but the physical tools were never the question.
The question was whether Moore could turn them into reliable Big Ten offensive line play. That process has been gradual.

2026 Season Preview: Final Projection of Ohio State’s Depth Chart, Offense and Special Teams
It's all speculation by 11W; however, the big surprise to me is Legend Bey. Apparently he took the suspension well, worked his ass off, got out of the coaches' proverbial "doghouse", and could have passed a real solid transfer RB on the depth chart.Running Back

There’s been no real indication of who will return kicks for Ohio State this season, so I’m choosing to buy stock in Bey again. Assuming he is what everyone’s saying he is, his explosiveness and agility make him a natural choice to return kicks and could make him the top big-play threat the Buckeyes have had on kickoff returns since Ted Ginn Jr.

Jeremiah Smith said in his interview that the Offense is going to be "way better" this year. Talked about the Oline and depth and already taking better care of situational football. Shit son, this gonna be fun

Yeah, I always thought that the "struggles on short yardage downs" has been Ohio State's major problem the last few years. It was even bigger than missing field goals; hell, it they had made the first down on 3rd and short they wouldn't even be trying for a field goal. I don't know if the primary problem was play calling, blocking scheme, personnel, and/or execution. I do know that many times on short yardage the OL line didn't move anyone on the defense back and the runner was frequently hit by a defender before he even got to the line of scrimmage. Hopefully, any struggles on short yardage downs are a thing of the past.

The interior OL should be one of the better at OSU in quite some time. The struggles in that Indiana game were specifically at RG so I have no doubt we’ll be better this year than last year.
You add a better OL, with an experienced QB, the best football player in America, and returning RBs then there’s no reason why this shouldn’t be a top 5 offense.
