Heard on the Zach Smith podcast that we threw less deep balls as an offense than Michigan threw last year. This despite Julian being the best deep ball thrower in the country.

With as good of a running game as we have with a good offensive line. We should be absolutely diabolical on play action.

I have a feeling Chris Henry and JJ will eat teams up down the field. Then Boyd, Parker, Mcquin, and Innis will eat teams up underneath.

I totally believe it. I don't listen to him but there were extenuating circumstances behind that statistic.

1. Pace of play - clearly the plan the whole year was to limit the exposure for Sayin, which resulted in a slower pace of play for Ohio State. Expect that to change.

2. Efficiency - they were hyper efficient on offense until the Indiana game. That matters in the equation - more effective plays and results typically equals fewer plays overall.

I hope Smith can help Bowen, Sayin and he line also figure out pre snap protection adjustments and how to hold up against stunts. I don’t understand how you can be as unprepared as they were for that but you know damn well Texas is going to empty the clip when it comes to blitzing, stunting and disguised coverages.

We should see 3WR sets what percentage of the time?

I completely agree. I was listening to Austin and Birm and they did a mailbag and someone asked who they predict who will be WR3. I don’t understand why Inniss is considered such a lock when he’s proven next to nothing.

Just odd to me.

He's absolutely quick enough to be a slot receiver. He's had 4 generational WRs in front of him (Harrison, Smith, Egbuka, Tate)....So saying he's not good is curious....He absolutely wouldn't be playing if he wasn't an absolute stud.

You will likely see a different scheme entirely when it comes to picking stuff like that up.

Last year was a near perfect storm for a team like Cryami - a team on a bye, with an OC who was essentially out the door and a young QB.

None of those will be in play for the Texas game this year.

Fair enough. I was too harsh. I'm obviously rooting for him. I think McCuin will have more catches than him this year tho

Against Texas, am betting that tOSU will play 2-3 TEs on the line. Don't know why, tOSU stayed pat on the OL during portal season, but the faith in the 2026 OL is high. As someone noted that Texas will be throwing everything but the camp stool at the Buckeyes. Probably because the game last year sent them into a tailspin after the game 1 loss. (Plus you cannot serve alcohol in the stadium if you lose the opener). With a rejiggered OL, one new starter (?), but at LT, and an experienced DL from Texas, I expect to see no less than six OL, one QB, one RB, and 3 WRs on the field. Short yardage, 7 OL, 2 WRs. If our OL holds up, maybe substitute a TE delay off the line, but all this depends on early success of OL. And let Jeremiah and Inniss or (?) go up against seasoned Texas DBs.
