Watching the DFBIA try to claim that "well this doesn't mean for sure that anyone could have known that an affair was going on" is some comical shit

Im sure they thought they were just having a nice friendly Bible study or something.

People can rationalize anything if it keeps them from dealing with reality not matching the idealized self image they have of themselves (via their association with the out of control shit show institution).

Penn State people rationalized institutional indifference of serial child rape for fucks sake.

This is child's play mental gymnastics.

Re: Manuel signed a five-year extension in 2024 through June 2030 at more than $2 million a year. A buyout provision in his contract requires a severance of 36 months of pay unless the school and Manuel reach a settlement agreement.

Just sayin': Why would Manuel settle for anything less than $6M?

Because their lawyers threaten to fire him for cause in which case he gets nothing and has to pay to litigate whatever he can get out of them.

$0 + low six figure legal bills out of pocket while unemployed = <$6MM settlement

Report: Michigan's Warde Manuel to receive $7 million payout after stepping down as athletic director

Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel will receive a significant financial package after stepping down from his position later this year. According to Front Office Sports’ Amanda Christovich, Manuel’s separation agreement includes a one-time payment of $7 million, along with retirement benefits and reimbursement for legal fees.

Just sayin': Well, $7M + retirement benefits + reimbursement of legal fees = the negotiated rate to keep a fired AD from "blowing the whistle" on scUM.....
