Whittingham definitely already had the "what the fuck have I gotten myself into" look going on in that game. If it's an ugly stumble from week to week it could get interesting with him. You know the natives are going to be restless with a 6-6/7-5 type season, a decline from what Sherrone did last year, with a guy they brought in who was supposed to bring stability. Could legit see it coming to the point where Whittingham just hangs it up after the season.

I don't think he leaves after this year. I predict 3 if their season's are benign failures.
Scum will give him time, and he is recruiting pretty good.
Just looking at it from a neutral and a non- hate view point, it takes time to go from one type of system to another.
Remember the 2012 Buckeye's when Urban carved out a undefeated season comprised of barely won games.
It so happens that Whittingham runs a similar system to Urban.
You could be correct though.

Deace is Scums most neutral pundit, and arguably he only devotes 25% of his time to the Scum pod, which sadly says alot about the M beat.

At one point towards the end of the game the TV broadcast caught him saying "What's going on?" to the coaches on the sidelines.

I don't think he makes it past 2. Their schedule is not favorable again next year, unless they hit it out of the park with the transfer portal 8-4 seems like their best case scenario for 2027 as well. This is more about Whittingham just quitting on them because he can't deal with the heat than scUM giving up on him.

I'm genuinely surprised that the DFBIA and the usual media sunshine pumpers aren't trying to hype this as some turning point Heisman moment where it all comes together. It was legit so bad that they can't even attempt to eek sunshine out of it

Underwood looked terrible! Accuracy is atrocious, no base when he throws he essentially looks like a kid cosplaying as Vince Young but without the generational talent. He was also the leading rusher but couldn't even get to 50yds. And this was always my issue with landing him. He put the coaching staff in a horrible position with his massive NIL deal, and its not like they have the most complete offense either

Well, I watched the game and I think those entitled fans need to get their heads screwed on correctly. Underwood obviously is a creative person and he pushed things like footwork to new levels in that game. Well worth every cent that they paid him. Of course, they got a much better return on the refs and conference, but when I think that he put them in the position to "win" that way well, I just get teary-eyed and thank the dear Lord that I got to watch a TCUN QB that shall remain a legend on Buckeye boards long after I depart for the next world.

Underwood's running ability has always been over hyped. He has Athleticism but being a good runner in football requires vision and other intangibles that Underwood just does not have.
The guy is in his 2nd season after starting all of year one (where he didn't improve throughout the season at all) and he's still a 1 read QB with the same glaring mechanical issues as he did on day 1. I think the writing is definitely on the wall already. You are right though about that 12 million dollars putting the coaches in a difficult position. You know there is going to be a lot of friction because of that when the point comes where they have to bench him (it's definitely heading there)
Their offensive line getting dominated by a MAC front is a whole nother problem. Yes our running game struggled in the 1st half against ball State but they were able to open it up in the 2nd half after adjustments, scUM did not do this which would make you believe that their OL is actually pretty bad.

I don't think they could justify 20 runs a game with him at <4 YPC. Because that's the result you are gonna get with that. He might have some success against UTEP but it isn't working against OU or Iowa.
