2025 tOSU Offense Discussion

Kind of a self fulfilling thing. Those teams can look better than they are because you are ~15% of their stats.

Thats why I always like the kind of approach @DaddyBigBucks takes, how did we do against each teams norm?

Much more telling.
yes! please come home @DaddyBigBucks

The last 2 games have really hurt them. 61 for 209.

Jackson not being 100% is part of it, but looks like the OL has hit a learning curve dealing with how teams are defending the run.
I'd also note that I thought they were very vanilla at UI and that they ran a lot more zone blocking plays at UW, which they've tended not to be as good at. I think they're still experimenting and stress testing things against opponents they can afford to do that against. That said, I expect they'll be primarily gap blocking when playing better opponents.

Perhaps I missed it somewhere but do we have any sense of how often we are running 3-WR sets?

When you consider the talent among Graham, Inniss and Porter (Porter is my favorite for this role) and how much attention Tate is going to start commanding across Smith, it literally seems impossible to defend a 3rd excellent receiver/rushing when everyone has to play softer/deeper.

I know Sayin has been taking the check-downs and there’s a lot of food on that table, but some drag routes by WR3 while Tate and Smith clear the top seems devastating.

It just feels like we are constantly in bunch formation but I could just be outright wrong, biased or both.
