Very much agree. Just seems like everything is buzzing along with no issue. We’ll see how far they go but they certainly have what it takes to repeat. It seems like the team culture, confidence and chemistry is at a very high level this year.
The big sell is that his family loves it and thinks it's an awesome place to be. Hopefully he wants to raise his kids in Columbus. It really is fun to watch… Matt loves it here too.
I really hope we catch a break and Matt can be here for the next few seasons.
With how well he’s doing I can’t imagine he’ll last more than 2 years (if not this post season)
There’s the idea that people get promoted until they fail. Matt P has done that. He’s been an elite NFL DC winning Super Bowl rings. He made it to NFL HC and it wasn’t great. Maybe he still wants to be an NFL HC. Maybe he wants to keep doing what he’s great at. Maybe he’s enjoying working with younger guys. He seems to be enjoying it and really connecting to the players. A guy can hope. The big sell is that his family loves it and thinks it's an awesome place to be. Hopefully he wants to raise his kids in Columbus.
The thing with coaching is the recycle factor or in some sense the good old boy network. These guys get opportunity after opportunity. Even Bill failed prior to the NE glory days. There’s the idea that people get promoted until they fail. Matt P has done that. He’s been an elite NFL DC winning Super Bowl rings. I hope Larry can talk to him about how much he has loved being one of the best position coaches in America for a few decades.
