the guy i was actually most impressed with was st clair. his cannon aside you could see his confidence grow and progress even through the reps he was getting in the game. and damn, that guy is elusive and quick and very mobile which is even more remarkable given his size and frame.

it’s gonna be amazing watching him develop over the next couple years. he’s going to be very special.

1. Aaron Scott​

The cornerback room is a very competitive room right now. There are a lot of guys fighting to see time behind Davison Igbinosun and Jermaine Mathews Jr. Aaron Scott is one of those players. He hardly played last year because of some injuries that he was dealing with.

Scott struggled most of the day covering Mylan Graham. He got shook a couple of times on routes, completely falling down. He didn't look like someone who is ready to grab a starting cornerback spot. He might have some work to do as a backup, first.

2. Tavien St. Clair​

Being a true freshman quarterback, Tavien St. Clair does not have a chance to win the starting job this season. His head is swimming as he works his hardest to learn the playbook and understand what the Buckeyes want from him. Saturday was not his best day.

The number-two overall recruit in the 2025 recruiting class struggled for most of the day. He was just 1/7 in the first half and finished the game with two interceptions. He did lead the Ohio State Buckeyes to a touchdown on the final drive, firing in a touchdown pass. Perhaps that gives him some confidence.

1. Julian Sayin
Julian Sayin was by far the best quarterback that the Buckeyes had during this game. In the first half alone, he finished 14/20 for 165 yards and a touchdown. He led the team down the field for multiple scores and truly looked the part. This was a much better performance for him than in the last two scrimmages.

If the season started tomorrow, Sayin would win the starting quarterback job. He was in command of the offense and looked like someone who was confident in his skills. Even after Lincoln Kienholz got the first crack at playing with the first-team, that didn't phase him.

2. Mylan Graham​

One receiver who has a lot of expectations surrounding him this year is Mylan Graham. Graham was a five-star recruit in last year's class, but he hardly played. He didn't get to the team until the summer, so that set him back a bit. He watched a lot during the year and has come back with a lot of confidence.

Graham was very good in this game. He had several moments in which he shook Aaron Scott to get open, including during an impressive touchdown grab that saw him break a tackle from Malik Hartford. He looks like someone who will be a factor this Fall.

I do wonder if people are underestimating how good Trey & Q were last year. I think the O line will be as good if not better, receivers forget about it, tight end upgrade, I think Sayin can ultimately be as good as Howard but RB does worry me just a little bit.

No we won't have 2 potential 1st rd picks in the back field. But I think Sayin has a much higher upside than Howard ( Howard had that swag though). The receivers and tight ends should be better than laster year for sure.

My biggest concern is the play calling. We go from a seasoned vet in Kelley to the best position coach of all time making his debut. And the first game just has to be am angry Texas team....

Yeah for sure it’s a step down from those two and that’ll maintain throughout the year. But with the weapons out wide, the insanely deep TE, and an offensive line being deeper that should lead to a lot of really good success. I doubt we’ll have the home runs but maybe the run game will be more rugged? Then again we haven’t got to see Peoples much
