2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments - NCAA: no wins taken away, no postseason ban

Im really not trying to be argumentative here. I just cant follow the logic. The ncaa was created by the schools to police themselves. The NCAA is us. We are it. Why would creating another governing body somehow fix any of the problems?
I’m not either. My take is what is the point of the NCAA? if they refuse to police the schools based on the stated governance, then why does the organization exist? What is the benefit to the members, if they don’t enforce the rules and maintain the integrity of the game?

That’s what this about to me, the integrity of the game. There is none and no one to maintain it at this juncture.

The NCAA stated everyone involved is no longer employed, but that is not entirely true. The compliance department essentially stated the football program was rogue and did not listen. You think that contentious relationship didnt bubble up to higher levels? In the end it certainly looks like compliance was told to stand down. So yes, the NCAA should have hammered them. The UM upper levels learned nothing.

Yes and the now head coach who tried to destroy evidence lmao.

They couldn't even suspend Cry Sherrona for the Oklahoma game. They couldn't even do the bare fuckin minimum to make it look like they're in charge of anything.

Nah. This sport is ultimately corrupt and I dont know how a rational person could, going forward, trust that the games aren't fuckin scripted. I dont think that's a crazy extrapolation. Shit, Michigan needs to be a contender for maximum playoff profit. I've learned a few things in my life and one of them is that there is no small number of people who will do absolutely anything to gain and or protect wealth. They can get $80 for a hoodie from someone else. I cant control what rich people do but I dont have to fuckin help them. Willingly anyway.

Can’t be overstated

This is a very reasonable take to me, and I've never been a romantic about student-athletes and what college football is and always has been. And, in the grand scheme of things, college football just isn't very important, so I try to keep my disappointment at this affront to the basic innate sense of fairness that most humans have in perspective.

The larger thing that bothers me, however, is the ever-increasing perception throughout American society (and in many other places as well) that if you're not cheating, you're not trying, that might makes right, and that anyone who doesn't cheat or use what might they have solely in service of their own ends is a "sucker". This adds to the mounting pile of evidence that that perception is accurate.

"I'm sentimental, if you know what I mean
I love the country but I can't stand the scene
And I'm neither left or right
I'm just staying home tonight
Getting lost in that hopeless little screen
But I'm stubborn as those garbage bags
That time cannot decay
I'm junk but I'm still holding up
This little wild bouquet
Democracy is coming to the U.S.A."

- Leonard Cohen
Power and self interest.

When you accept those as the driver of 99% of human behavior, then the frustrations lessen. Forget what “they” told or taught you. Look through that lens.

Nah, because I’m driven by that in a significantly lower percentage, and I don’t have any illusions that I’m on the far right tail of the virtuousness bell curve. I’ll grant that whatever the percentage is, it’s probably over 50%, but for me looking through that lens would increase rather than reduce the frustration. It’s also inconsistent with the general fact that people tend to like people they know better than strangers.

I give the “people they know” to the 1%.

People are altruistic to their close relatives but other than that. It’s power and self interest. Nation states , organizations individuals never changes.

They'll convince themselves it's bc everyone is jealous of them.
Their fan page posted a video where all the B1G teams are celebrating the NCAA decision, and OSU is beat up and sad.

Super pathetic..... literally Illinois was rocking their cuckold game song to taunt them while they were beating them last season.

The way they insulate themselves from what other fan bases really think of them is actually impressive for all the wrong reasons.
