It opens up the game to constant cheating now. Nobody can ever get anything more than a financial penalty and meaningless double secret probation for anything short of Baylor level shit. If the ncaa ever tries, the school will just point to the inconsistency with the tsun case and sue the ncaa into bankruptcy.

He probably doesn't care that much. The issue predates him, and there are a multitude of new issues like fundraising and budgetary problems that he is probably focused on. As has been stated over and over in this thread, it is a different world.

This pisses me off because I hate tsun and wanted to see them suffer but make no mistake, regardless of what punishment would have been handed down, I would have wanted more (short of the death penalty).

As far as the rest I look at it like this:
-they were caught cheating, this was not an exoneration
-they are paying a fine and the guys who did it are banned from the sport
-the NCAA can no longer vacate wins because they no longer have the concept of ineligible players because it's a professional sport now stuck in a transition period of (very) loose league governance.

I liken it to the Astros sign stealing in baseball. They did it, it gave them an advantage and offended everyone's innate sense of "fairness" because we're taught not to cheat at sports*

Coach was fired, GM/school president is out and they paid a big fine.

Sucks for those of us who hate them but that is life in the big city of pro sports. Go kick their ass on the field.



*although everyone tries to find a way to in some form or fashion. Outrage is usually felt most when the other guy gets away with something you didn't think of or try yourself.

yep fall for the regular season, winter spring for the playoffs. Only time off is June and July.

Using Sagarins rankings both Wisconsin (,with 5 wins) Nebraska and Rutgers woulda been playoff teams in a 48 team field in 2024. Surely everyone is clamoring for that!
