2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

Didn't Connor have an entire Netflix show to bring the truth to light?
Ayuh, and he managed to come out looking even more unhinged than before.

Multiple unique, unrelated pieces of information from independent tips or sources point to an announcement sooner rather than later.

Uncle T saying an announcement is to come "by Friday." (he's a crackpot but if Connor hears something it will go straight to T)

Evidence suggests we'll know something soon. Very soon.

Two completely different storylines are being pushed. Which one is right?

Plenty of smoke supporting a release by the end of the week, but no indications that we're in a notification window.

Boobs et al still seem to think UM skates, which would only be an informed opinion if the COI leaked the results to the university prior to official notification. All this, of course, after hearing for 18 months about how the COI doesn't leak.

I expect a loud 24 to 48 hours with much more fat than meat, but keep an eye on Thamel's twitter.

Here's Thamel's twitter for quick reference: https://x.com/PeteThamel

Based on the evidence and the way the process played out, my expectations have not changed.

With that said, there was paywalled reporting elsewhere last night sharing specific penalties from a UM source that - if true - would be shockingly light. It's not my information and the fact that it didn't take off overnight increases my skepticism. Boobs & Co still seem to think that UM and Sharon essentially skate.

This came last night on the heels of chasing 3 completely separate pieces of information that were either unimaginably coincidental or nearly airtight evidence that the announcement was coming Thursday or Friday.

Like I said, expect a cacophony of noise for the next day or two. And then we'll know.
My nerves can't handle this. If they fucking walk away.......

A reminder to calm some nerves (mostly mine)......Michigan's strategy has seemingly been to get their fanbase believing that nothing happened, so when penalties hit the fans will be all pissed off about "overreach". You don't get that reaction from the fanbase without first telling them that nothing is coming. So them saying behind a paywall that the penalties are light fits right in line with that.

But if they get off easy, I'm going to be sick to my stomach.

In my mind, they already got off easy after their '23 season wasn't shut down. And they're not going to get the death penality, so...everything else is kid gloves. If they get nothing, there's no point in acting like there are rules anymore.

Hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst. One thing we do know is Tony Petitti is on record as not wanting Michigan to face further sanctions even though they screwed over other teams in the B1G. Hopefully that isn’t an indication of how the powers that be at the NCAA are thinking, but it has me mentally prepared for a lack of justice. I‘m ready for a decision heavily weighted in favor of business interests at this point. Personally, I’d like to see the 2023 banner come down, but I’d be surprised if that happens.

If they get off light then I recommend everyone in CFB should break the rules to win. I seriously won’t be able to handle this if they don’t get a pretty steep penalty (anything less than 1 year bowl ban and vacated natty is a failure- but should be much heavier).

I don’t think they’ll get away with it but a small part of me is afraid they will get much lighter than I think.

A bigger part of me believes there’s just no way for them to get a slap on the wrist. This is heavy stuff and how can the NCAA afford to go light here?

Exact same. I was screaming (to no one) that they needed their season shut down the moment this came out. That’s what would’ve been the correct thing to do. Because that would’ve punished the team which benefited the most. I also knew they’d embrace their heel role and they’d circle the wagons. I just knew they’d find a way to win it all.

Maybe colleges - particularly Big Ten schools - are far more worried about the future of research and the money it brings in. Both Ohio State and Michigan are under pressure to cut DEI programs at the same time they are facing loss of research grant revenue. Perhaps their presidents and trustees are far more concerned about the attack on their control of academics and research than they are of Michigan football getting the punishment it deserves.

If they skate, the sport is an even bigger joke than it has already become. It's WWE with a leather ball. If that's the case - no thanks, I have no interest in a sport that allows rampant cheating and doesn't care if the offenders thumb their nose at the governing body throughout the entire investigation. I'll just...

If the penalties are “shockingly light”, i will not even finish the countdown thread. Someone who still cares will have to take over.
