2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

What is the function of the Committee on Infractions then?

It is not run like a traditional court trial, yes, but there is a final arbiter, because there is an appealable decision. Somebody listens to both sides and makes a ruling.
I suspect that it’s like your dad being the arbiter when your mom handed out punishment.

Sure, there could be something overruled… but dad knows better.

The presidents and trustees have fuck all to do with the punishment.
Yes. But they do have to respond to it.

In the case of Michigan, the interim president, Grasso, might/might not have to reorder much of his athletic department at a time when his large research budget is being threatened. If the punishment matches what we think it should be, he will also have to consider using tuition money to cover the loss of football revenue.

I'm sure Carter at Ohio State is planning a response to the NCAA's decision, especially if Michigan walks. I'd be surprised if other university presidents in the conference aren't figuring out what their response will be. In the meantime, all of them are stuck with questions regarding research monies, admission, and hiring policies.

Does that clear up what I was trying to say earlier?
