2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

I dont think you can get rid of the management aspect, no matter what shape it ends up taking. Take Phil Jackson, he spent his time managing egos, not coaching basketball. He later took this ability of his to Los Angeles and managed Kobe and Shaq as well. I think, if I can make some assumptions and table it the "osu way" where players are getting paid well, but also understand this is a developmental league, rather than the ATM way (I do mean TAMU, not ass to mouth) which is throw a ton of money at a bunch of guys who are looking out for themselves. We've seen some test runs on this philosophy. I hope scUM tries, cuz the test results ain't great. And Sharon ain't CFPs Phil Jackson

I agree overall however I do wonder how much impact that winning culture advantage will have as we go further and further along with this and the players (potentially) care less and less about winning in the minor leagues.

It's all going to come down to the perception of the players. Is CFB still an awesome experience and win at all costs? Or is it a place to go find the right mix of money, development and fun?

Part of me thinks the Jordan-like alpha's will choke you out over a game of checkers no matter what but part of me also knows damn good and well, not everyone is like that even if they are great players.

I can understand defensive players picking scUM, but it's been a graveyard when it comes to offensive development for a long time. For Wide Receivers especially.

It's gonna be hilarious watching Sharon turn Underwood into Cade McNamara.

The thing that set Jordan apart, in my opinion- and it seems to be a trait shared by guys like Smith and Downs, and surely other (and hell, maybe scUM has some guys too, I don't know, but I doubt it given their culture) is the desire to be better tomorrow than they are today. Nothing is earned. There are no laurels.

I mean, it's been common knowledge around here scUM recruits think getting to scUM means they've arrived and can rest on their laurels.

I'll be interested to see if they are indeed who we thought they were.

If the cheating scandal counts for anything it's that they're willing to do anything but actually work for it.

wtf is "ledged"?

I don't think the NCAA will get involved with the Weiss stuff so long as there is an active lawsuit or investigation from outside parties going on.
I think thats like putting the pussy on a pedestal then you realize it's because she's that crazy and you think about jumping just to get away from her.
