2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

Surprised no one posted about Clinkscale getting a 2 year show cause today for violations....and that was separated from the "main" case....

Former Michigan football assistant coach Steve Clinkscale has reached an agreement with NCAA enforcement staff about recruiting violations that occurred within the football program. A Division I Committee on Infractions panel has approved the agreement. The pending portion of the case for the school and five individuals will be considered separately by the Committee on Infractions, after which the committee will provide its full decision on the case.

The agreed-upon violations involve impermissible benefits provided to prospects and/or their families during their recruitment. Clinkscale and the enforcement staff also agreed that after his separation from Michigan, Clinkscale failed to fully satisfy his obligation to cooperate with the investigation when he did not provide complete information during an interview, though he eventually acknowledged the violations and his involvement in them.

The committee will not release or discuss further details in the case to protect the integrity of the ongoing process, as the committee’s final decision is pending.

By separating the cases, the Division I Committee on Infractions publicly acknowledges the infractions case and permits Clinkscale to immediately begin serving penalties while awaiting the committee’s final decision on the remaining contested portion of the case. That decision will include any findings and penalties for the school and the five remaining individuals.

The agreed-upon penalties in this portion of the case include:

 A two-year show-cause order for Clinkscale, in which any employing institution must restrict him from any athletically-related position.

 Should Clinkscale be employed during the first year of his show-cause order, he will be suspended from 50% of the football regular season contests

The important thing is did they separate their cases, so they could rat? If so, that means that those who stayed (and the program) will be getting far worse.

I'll have to admit that code of omerta that they have going on up there has been pretty god damned impressive. Those that couldn't jump ship to the nfl seem very willing to risk career ending bans to protect Harbaugh and the program. I wonder if it's just the knowledge that the university President will never, ever hold them to account or some deep pockets like Ross or Barstool are paying them off.

So, I'm confused..... Which investigation are these recruiting violations a part of? I just can't keep track of all the different investigations......

Also, if someone is already on probation and continues to break the rules, that's usually bad, for the person in probation, right?

I assumed it's about "justa burger gate." Since that's the only one that's been concluded on the institutional level and penalties handed out to the relevant weasels. Justaburgergate is also the only one of the three that is centered on recruiting violations.
