So, it would appear that they went rat on the cheating scandal and still got 2 and 1 year show cause penalties. It won't affect them, but I don't think it's a good omen for tsun, Ono, Warde and Sharrone.

It's two guys who clearly cooperated to get a reduced or expedited ruling against them.

Think about it in a criminal context. How comfortable would you be if all of a sudden two members of the gang had their own lawyers and their own deal with the DA?

Even the dumbest of dumb sonsofbitches has to see that coming.

Cheatin' Jim doesn't give a shit. He used tsun as vehicle to get back to the NFL the last 3-4 years he was there. He has no intention of ever coaching in college again. So while the show causes doled out to Cheatin' Jim and his cheatin' minions are largely symbolic, they portend bad stuff for tCun. The NCAA doesn't toss around show cause penalties like candy and tCun now have three coaches slapped with them. They save those for the coaches that really fucked up, almost always involving the coaches misleading or concealing during an investigation which is exactly what gets you LOIC'd.

And remember Jim's massive ego doesn't care about the school that publicly humiliated him and cut his salary in half. Ono's shameless ass kissing doesn't mean a thing to him. To him, Ono was a sad jock-sniffer whose head he would have shoved into a toilet in high school. He begged the NFL for an out every single year after the 21 season. He demanded the university publicly embarrass itself with his immunity clause, and then he bailed on it anyways.

From the "you can't major in history" talk to the "we're cutting your salary in half" talk, I bet he feels genuinely humiliated by the place and could care less what wreckage he left in his wake.

Yep. A lot of people forget how precarious his position was up there after 2020. Most of the dfbia was ready to run him outta town on a rail. He spent that hiring cycle spreading for any NFL team with an opening with no reciprocal interest. He realized he wasn't getting hired by the NFL trying to compete straight up, so he cooked up his cheating scheme with some psycho ex marine. He didn't care what kind of wreckage it could cause because he was backed into a corner and had nothing to lose.
