In 1907, the Big Ten Conference was officially called the Intercollegiate Conference of Faculty Representatives. However, it was also commonly referred to as the Western Conference or the Big Nine. In 1907, Michigan was voted out of the conference due to issues with eligibility rules. In 1917, the University of Michigan rejoined the Big Ten Conference.

I found another interesting tidbit:
Did Michigan block Notre Dame from joining the Big Ten?
(AP) — It was some combination of religion, a grudge involving Knute Rockne and maybe the simple notion that some people just don't like Notre Dame. Back in the 1920s, the Fighting Irish made what might have been their biggest push to join what would become the Big Ten but the athletic director at Michigan blocked it.

All the other options are funny and good for us.

Ol Bikey would be the ultimate kick in the teeth for them. Imagine Eddie George turning rat WHILE HE WAS ON STAFF. That would have the lunatic fringe frothing. Confused. Angry. Sad.

Hilarious
I’m not fully on board with comparing an actual Heisman winner to a ‘September Heisman” Bike Rider.

I don't know who you think you are, Sir, but this is the thread where we bash the cheaters - not give thanks for what they've done for us.

Fielding Yost decided--above the heads of his university President and trustees--that tsun would not abide by new Western Conference rules and put the football program under the control of the President and faculty. It literally was the original sin of Lack Of Institutional Control. He got them kicked out of the conference. They named a building after him.

What we're seeing now is nothing new. It is hard wired into the institutional dna of the place. Ono is just the latest pathetic jock-sniffer that puts the foosball first. FOOTBALL. FACTORY.

I have it from a reliable source that Ono is on the spectrum for asskissers syndrome.
There is something wrong with that guy. I mean clinically, deeply wrong in the head. He's a self-obsessed, self-promoting charlatan who's obsessed with being buddies with football players who would have dunked his head in a toilet in high school. He's not a well man and certainly not someone who should be running a Big Ten university.
