“Couth Carolina?”I'll put this here and hopefully it can get placed somewhere more permanent but I read that they are playing the flat earther game as it pertains to Woodson being ineligible for 1997. The narrative apparently that it's an urban legend and never really happened because "the school and the NCAA" looked an didn't find anything.
There was a federal trial in 2001. Andre Lewis was his agent and the company name was Summit Management.
If anyone can find those records, in them the Summit Management financial records showed it had paid for a trip (by Woodson) to Couth Carolina in May of 1997 and that they bought his tux before the Heisman ceremony (which was before the Rose Bowl I believe)
Anyway, wanted to get that in the hands of anyone who can actually validate it if anyone even cares to. Given that his buddy Marcus Ray was busted for improper agent contact the next year, I'd say odds are pretty good their 1997 *1/2 a NC was won with an ineligible player carrying them on his back.
Get Ryan Day’s brother on this yesterday!
