2025 scUM Shenanigans, Arguments, etc.

Nobody, and I mean nobody (aside from the DFBIA) buys that bullshit.
Do they, though? I mean, yeah, they'll defend that hill with their last breath, but do they actually BELIEVE it?

I know it sounds like I'm changing the subject, but I'm really not. There was a documentary, probably on Netflix, about flat-earthers. And it explained how some people get a thought in their heads, and no matter what evidence you throw at them, or how convincing you can be, they will never believe it. Not to get political or religious, but I think that's why a lot of wars are fought - political and religious reasons. Anyway, I wonder if the cheaters and their fans are so entrenched in this thought that they're right that they will never ever see the big picture.

I wonder if this is how the Penn State fans can support Joe Paterno as much as they do - they're stuck in the world where JoePa never does anything wrong, and you're a terrorist if you speak out against him. The cheaters and their fans are more interested in HOW the information came out than what the actual information is.

TCUN fans are very much like Ped State fans (and most fans in general) in this regard.

JoePed could have been railing kids himself and some of those mutants would still defend him. Some of them have built their entire personality around that "Success with Honor" bullshit he spewed.

Same with TCUN and the "M*ch*gan Man" nonsense.

There is certainly a segment of the DFBIA that knows everything they accomplished* is bullshit but will ride it out claiming it's a "nothing burger" until the bitter end. But the fanbase as a whole has proven time and again that they really are that dumb. Look around here & over on 11W and see how many people call tOSU "insiders" on their BS when appropriate. You see almost none of that on tCun boards. They largely buy anything those con artists will sell them hook, line & sinker.

I agree to an extent. But, be honest here. When tatgate was going on, did you think Tressel should have been fired? Just from my memory of people talking here, I think most people thought he needed to be fired. And that was for turning a blind eye on impermissible benefits and lying about it. I think it's embarrassing that the school took as long to fire him as they did.
Maybe my memory is wrong - maybe most defended him, despite everything.
You're right that Penn State fans seem to defend JoePa no matter what. The cheaters' fans defend Moore and Jimmah no matter what. How many of us defend what Woody did? I mean, yeah - that Clemson nerd deserved it, but Woody deserved to be fired. And I don't think many thought Tressel should have gotten away with just that 2-game penalty.

If Ryan Day, fresh off a Natty, got caught covering up child rape he'd be lucky to get out of town with his skin intact.

Same for Urban and Tressel.

There are a lot of things you can say about Buckeye Nation that are less than complimentary and also completely true but you can't say we hero worship our coaches the way certain other cult like groups do.

Initially no - at first. Had it been what is initially was, I don't think it was fire-able. Had he followed process and gone through the compliance office when that lawyer sent him stuff, I think he survives it.

What did it for me was when he signed the statement with the NCAA stating he didn't know of any violations. That sunk him with both me and the University/NCAA.

I wasn't around for when Woody popped that punk from Clemson but yeah that was fire-able as well right off the bat.

Honestly if would not stun me if, in fact, JoePed was partaking in the diddling act. He was a garbage human and I hope his seat is extra hot in hell.

I think you and I are on the same page. My point is that... yes - many/most fans (short for "fanatic") might take a couple of steps down the same hallway where *ichigan and Penn State fans have gone down. But many/most fans didn't go very far down that hallway.

Look how quickly Urban got removed. Most universities sweep that type of stuff. I would say fans are probably 50/50 in Urban.

I’m so pissed off just finding out that your avatar picture isn’t actually your ass that I’ve deleted 52 of my posts that were responding to you.
