OC had had good numbers the past 2 years, 1 at New Mexico and 1 at Utah....BUT I think a lot of that has to do with him having Devon Dampier who is a true dynamic running threat at QB that most MWC and Pac 12 Ds are ill equiped to handle. He was the OC at Syracuse in 2023 and that offense was not good at all. Also got shut down by the 1 higher level D they played this year (Texas Tech)

DC seems like a guy who's great for a BYU but I think he's gonna have problems transitioning to higher expectations and level of competition. Hes not the NFL type that scUM is used to will be interesting to see how a true college guy stands up there now.

So the HC OC and DC are all not gonna be heavily invested in recruiting? That's probably gonna work out well

It's probably not going to be as disastrous, but I think the natives are gonna start getting restless after 2/3 years.

I expect he will get them into the playoffs a time or two (10-2 tCun would get in) in five years to get dummied by a better team. If he doesn't get them in by year two, though, the DFBIA will get restless

Schedule is rough next year I think anyone would have a hard time getting their current roster to the playoff in 2026. Don't think Willingham is a guy who's inspiring elite transfers just to come play for him. Best case for them for 2026 would actually be Underwood leaving and Dampier following from Utah, he sucks as a passer too but is a much more dynamic runner who would give them a better shot.

The real question is how much is Whittingham really into this? Is this a easy paycheck from a desperate place the situation where he's gonna come in and hot dog it or is he actually going to be balls out?
