Right or wrong, you can sell against that.

Any kind of big, public, new sheriff in town/clean up stuff can be spun into a deemphasizing football counter claim if you want to.

I think the adults in charge at the BOT level are actually going to lean into that more than football fans think they will. Watch for a board committee to oversee the athletic department once they shitcan Warde. If that happens all the NIL money cannon stuff will be operating in a harsher environment. Likely a classic case of over reacting/swinging the pendulum back too far the other way for a while and it doesn't take much of that for the rest of CFB to let the talent know, you aren't serious about football anymore.

I'm not worried about the headlines of the coach. I am watching for what they say and do at Warde's level and above. That will tell you what's really going on.

I tend to agree with you. Not elite, but solid, with a great reputation. Which honestly is what TCUN needs just as desperately as a good coach. He won't bring any baggage with him. It's hard to not like KW. But I'll start trying if the hire is made.
But this much I know. The fans of the evil Empire will turn him into an immediate legend and savior. Their arrogance (yet again) will get the better of them. It's in their DNA.

The irony is that he coached under Meyer, who DFBIA surely believes to have been Jackie Sherrill-level dirty.

Depends basically on if he cleans house like he should. If he keeps players favorites for roster retention he might face questions of did he really clean up the culture.

All true. And some have suggested he could just enjoy the massive salary increase and mail it in from the golf course.

On the other hand, he has coached for 32 years and suddently has a legit opportunity to win a NC.

Something interesting about Moore is that he has fielded two of those 9-4,10-3 teams with a program which Poggi describes as malfunctioning.

Pay attention to the staff he puts together. That is the first place Ellison's money will go.

Do we know that Ellison is involved in anything beyond the one-and-done QB purchase for his latest wife. He has zero connections with the tsun other than some likely research related stuff that is handled well below his office and is no different than what Oracle has with multiple othe aau universities.

No it’s a good hire for the next few years. After retiring from Utah, I’m not sure how enthusiastic he’ll be in recruiting. It’ll keep them afloat for 2-4 years while they try to find their next pos.
