DeBoer is a "good enough" coach, but look at him at Bama, he's struggled to keep them national title level relevant. Missed the playoff last year and barely squeezed in this year. He would not have scUM competing for national titles, their ceiling would be 9-10 wins and making the playoff every few years but not a consistent serious national threat. Basically good Harbaugh seasons pre 2021.

Intrinsic made a decent point about Warde on the "TrailerParkBoyz" podcast with the illiterate Dev. The school's main area of concern at the moment is likely the impending lawsuit tidal wave from the school's aiding and abetting the Weiss hacking spree. Firing Warde for allowing and/or covering up unethical activity could be used in those lawsuits to argue he had a similar oversight failure with Weiss.

When have they ever conducted a smart coaching search? Moeller was handed the job from Bo. They elevated Carr after Moeller got too blotto in public. After Carr, they zeroed in on DickRod who was never, ever going to fit there. Then they bungled the search after they canned his ass and hired a < .500 career coach because he was a "_ichigan _an." After he predictably flamed out they stumbled into Harbrau because the Niners couldn't stand his weird ass anymore after he led them to a SuperBowl and 3 NFC Championship appearances in 4 years. Even he was wholly underwhelming until he started cheating his ass off. Then they had to elevate a guy no one else would hire as a HC because the job was nuclear waste at the time. They obviously didn't check him out too well because...well. Now they're gonna conduct a measured, thorough search? They haven't done that in over half a century since they hired Bo.

Without cheating, they're a 10-3/9-4 program best case scenario.

Petiflogger is a weasel, but this leaves the Conference with the Buckeyes, Indiana, Oregon, and a bunch of mediocre programs. Maybe that’s why he fought to save Michigan’s ass.
