The big problem is that there is not a "quality" G5 team ever year. At least Boise played Oregon tough in the regular season last year. Tulane already got blown out by Ole Miss and also lost by 22 to a 6-6 UTSA team.

because to get this latest expanded model off the ground they had to have a structure agreed on by all conferences.

Next year it's just up to the B1G and the SEC.

They are going to do what most of us want, a 16 team (or more) field of just P4 "name" teams and I'm good with it.

There is no Santa, no Easter Bunny, I'm not nailing Alba and the Sun Belt champ is never knocking off a top 10 P4 team in their own back yard when they are focused for the game. Talent disparity is just too big.

No this shit should be variable, realistically it should be 4 maybe 5 this year. We’re gonna end up with 4 more game like Aggy vs Da U and OU vs Bama. None of those 4 teams belong in the playoffs

Yep. Those kinda upsets are really only possible in bowl games where there is im reality nothing major on the line other team could mostly care less (Utah/Bama, Boise/OU)

It's not happening in a playoff. Even if once managed to pull a 1st round upset they are getting blasted by a top 4 seed in the next round
