While the domers getting shafted and their hysterical histrionic response has given me an erection lasting much longer than four hours, the clear move should have been to put ND AND Miami in and boot Bama after getting Sandusky Raped in the SECCG.

Force equity and this is what you’ll get. You’ll have teams that are superior on the sideline at the benefit of some half rate teams: Would Ole Miss prefer Tulane or Texas? Yeah we know that answer

When I was a kid in the 10970's my father worked as a contractor fixing up homes for realtors. The San Fernando valley was always a trip. His brother lived in Tarzana which was actually nice but the further inland you go it gets really seedy. There were sections of Ventura Blvd just over the hill from Hollywood that were nothing but porn theaters, peep shows and porn shops. To this day I can't believe that that existed. It was also when punk rock first hit the scene and you'd see the Mohawks and face piercing people. Strange days.

The ideal should be getting to the point where you don't even need a committee. Unfortunately, transparency isn't exactly the goal.

Until you get uniform scheduling across the board and split away from the G6, the structure of college football gives them an excuse to "account" for various discrepancies. AKA an excuse to cook the books and rig the chess board to their liking.

There are viable fixes to all this, it just should have been addressed years ago, and the people who can fix it, don't care to.

Maybe this is when the SEC and the B1G tells the NCAA to go pound sand and forms their own ruling body. Maybe TV leaves MACtion et al, and goes deeper into un-reality TV shows. Maybe, in five years, the SEC and B1G will be absorbed into one contract as the NFL farm system and all of my philosophical concerns about sports and education will disappear.

From a player (and agent) standpoint, competition between PE and NFL owners for players would seem to raise player salaries significantly.

If the powers that be think it's optimal to compete with the shield, they will meet a deserved and fitting end at that point.

However, your point about eligibility years is a good one. If this becomes separated from academia that will absolutely be a point of contention. I think it would be in the best interest of college football to keep it at 4 (with 5th or 6th years being incorporated for redshirts, injuries, etc.).

PS I still think you can treat them as students, just let them major in football. It's career development in principal, so I don't see much of a difference. This will all get figured out with a super league that includes a CBA with the players.

You can also just limit the age/years/eligibility of players in the new league.

It won't be long after you set it up that the players will make a union and you'll have a CBA anyway. All this stuff will get handled. It's minutia.
